Ok I'm still reading Critique of the Gotha Program (I've also been reading a lot of definitions for terms on marxists.org and doing other stuff). I know I will probably sound like an idiot when talking about this stuff but can someone help me out here.

I'm pretty sure something about this text I've typed out is wrong (probably capitalists making commodities rare through control of the means of production, maybe I'm even confusing 'value' for 'use-value') but I don't know *why* I'm wrong. I feel really stupid because I haven't studied economics in depth since school so forgive me if this sounds really dumb.

For the record I am in full support of pedophiles not being afraid to be open to doctors so there can be more study done on them. However these people should have their activities secretly monitored by government agencies.

Ideally we would be able to figure out the signs that someone may become a pedophile (like even when they're a kid themselves) and be able to prescribe medicine or therapy to change this while monitoring their behavior rigorously to ensure that they don't harm children.

Then if they do harm children send them to prison while continuing to examine their brains and shit.

I don't consider 15 to be old enough to have a relationship with adults. Only adults should be in relationships with other adults.

This is part of why the age of consent being 16 is dumb. Teenagers should be allowed to be in relationships with other teenagers.

Age of consent should be 18. Drinking age should be 18.

But can you consent to something that your mind truly can't understand in it's current state?

Children can't understand sexuality or the consequences of it mentally or physically (STDs, etc) therefore they can't consent.

And therefore an adult who should be able to understand sexuality and the consequences of sexual activity should know that trying to have sex with a child is wrong.

The same way someone who knows their customer isn't knowledgeable about an item trying to cheat them out of more money with an inferior product is wrong.

Except in this case it doesn't result in someone losing a little money, it results in a child having physical harm which may result in medical procedures and mental issues down the line.

It isn't an arbitrary age. It's an age that child psychologists generally understand to be when sexual maturity begins. Also it's an age tied to other things that essentially constitute when you have complete freedom in life and no longer depend on your parents or guardians.
