2018-05-31 15:45:12 UTC

But thatโ€™s what you expect from head up ass, muh feefee soclibs

2018-05-31 15:46:27 UTC

```he government of the Shah of Iran, which had paid the Pentagon a $400 million deposit prior to the 1979 uprising that ousted him. The $400 million was for airplane parts, which were never delivered```
2018-05-31 15:47:23 UTC
So the US entered into a trade agreement with a government that no longer existed before transfer of the parts.
2018-05-31 15:47:24 UTC
hmm.
2018-05-31 15:47:40 UTC
if it was never delivered
2018-05-31 15:47:57 UTC
meh
2018-05-31 15:48:04 UTC
Wasn't like they got voted out
2018-05-31 15:48:17 UTC
Not to mention that the Iran Deal wasn't even fucking official; Obama decided to do his own thing against the wishies of the US Senate
2018-05-31 15:48:26 UTC
*"According to Obama administration officials, the U.S. government worried that a tribunal set up in The Hague to resolve U.S.-Iran claims would have awarded Iran $4 billion or more, so the U.S. and Iran negotiated a deal that gave Iran the original $400 million plus $1.3 billion in interest."*
2018-05-31 15:48:37 UTC
wasnt the shah like a king or something?
2018-05-31 15:48:42 UTC
yes
2018-05-31 15:48:55 UTC
literally just quoted that ๐Ÿคฃ
2018-05-31 15:49:00 UTC
then the money should go bak to the shah's family
2018-05-31 15:49:00 UTC
like actual king, not a constituional cuck
2018-05-31 15:49:01 UTC
He was setup by the CIA after regime change.
2018-05-31 15:49:09 UTC
not the iran regime
2018-05-31 15:49:21 UTC
They removed Mossadegh.
2018-05-31 15:50:06 UTC
if no relative of the shah can be found then the money has no owner
2018-05-31 15:50:09 UTC
.... because he wanted to throw out British and American oil industry in Iran, or at least but a big tax on the revenue.
2018-05-31 15:50:10 UTC
and thus
2018-05-31 15:50:47 UTC
The Iran regime came after the Shah, they revolted against the Shah.
2018-05-31 15:51:10 UTC
And the deal was with the Shah.
2018-05-31 15:51:13 UTC
appeasement is such a good idea, *nothing* wrong ever came from it
2018-05-31 15:51:13 UTC
Before, it was a democracy with Mossadegh, thanks CIA.
2018-05-31 15:51:38 UTC
funny u said CIA since i heard that it was the british people
2018-05-31 15:51:50 UTC
2018-05-31 15:51:56 UTC
They were involved too.
2018-05-31 15:52:00 UTC
2018-05-31 15:52:06 UTC
straight
2018-05-31 15:52:12 UTC
Brits were mainly involved in Iran
2018-05-31 15:52:15 UTC
US mainly with the Saudis
2018-05-31 15:52:53 UTC
The UK is the 51 state of the U.S., but without constitution.
2018-05-31 15:53:13 UTC
Uhm
2018-05-31 15:53:15 UTC
u wish it was the 51 stat
2018-05-31 15:53:50 UTC
then they have finally repeal all these hate speech and gun ban laws
2018-05-31 15:53:52 UTC
If U.S. says jump into Iraq, the Brits jump and mothers will loose their childs for nothing.
2018-05-31 15:57:58 UTC
2018-05-31 15:58:52 UTC
2018-05-31 15:59:15 UTC
2018-05-31 15:59:34 UTC
Hi Trebjonn, long time no see
2018-05-31 15:59:38 UTC
I'm not convinced that krimskrams isn't just a bot
2018-05-31 15:59:48 UTC
How have you been?
2018-05-31 15:59:51 UTC
But do the chinese use local labour ?
2018-05-31 16:00:04 UTC
Depends on the country
2018-05-31 16:00:10 UTC
```Africa needs more infrastructure, no one denies that. I just have one question. Why is it that it is only foreigners who can build this infrastructure? Why can't we Africans rise to the challenge of learning how to construct the infrastructure we need? Is constructing infrastructure too hard for us Africans?```

2018-05-31 16:00:14 UTC

@Trebjonn don't the chinese import their own people when building roads in africa too?

2018-05-31 16:00:22 UTC

I am not educated about any of this stuff. I think, it is a mix.

2018-05-31 16:00:28 UTC

``` I agree with you. Africans have the capacity to build infrastructure. The problem is that the Chinese are sending many of their people out of China to get jobs because there are too many people in China. All over the continent you have well qualified African engineers who can design new infrastructure and people to actual do the construction. In addition, most African countries have the monetary resources to pay for the needed equipment and supplies. The real issue rest with African leaders who are not serious about African development and would rather allow foreigners, like the Chinese, to do the work. This has been the problem with Africa since independence.```
2018-05-31 16:00:37 UTC
In Panama by law they require that 75 percent pf the workers are Panamanians
2018-05-31 16:00:42 UTC
@Deleted User I think so too
2018-05-31 16:00:46 UTC
yep
2018-05-31 16:01:15 UTC
We are currently building a train and some ports with chinese money, but only a small percentage of the work force is chinese
2018-05-31 16:01:34 UTC
good for you
2018-05-31 16:01:51 UTC
I don't think that's the case in the african countries tho
2018-05-31 16:02:02 UTC
```ournalist Joachim Boembo puts it simply:

โ€œThe people see China as real. Because it is things you can see," he says. "The West is abstract. Western aid is abstract,"```

2018-05-31 16:02:07 UTC

Because of weak labour laws

2018-05-31 16:02:12 UTC
2018-05-31 16:02:27 UTC
2018-05-31 16:02:46 UTC

How are you doing?

2018-05-31 16:03:07 UTC

Western aid is buying own companies to build stuff in Africa, which then often is useless, because the know-how is missing locally.

2018-05-31 16:03:32 UTC

Good gonna get food soon

2018-05-31 16:03:39 UTC

I did know one, who was involved in such a project.

2018-05-31 16:03:40 UTC

@Trebjonn what kind?

2018-05-31 16:03:45 UTC

Chinese aid appears to be an additional layer of paternalism

2018-05-31 16:03:50 UTC

The pissing contest between china and the USA has proven very profitable for the third world

2018-05-31 16:04:47 UTC

The USA is paranoid about losing influence and its starting to up their diplomatic game

2018-05-31 16:04:48 UTC

2018-05-31 16:05:02 UTC

yep

2018-05-31 16:05:15 UTC

so kebab, trebjonn?

2018-05-31 16:05:20 UTC

```Some Ugandans are critical of Chinaโ€™s so-called win-win strategy. Critics like professor of international political economy Yunus Lubega Butanaziba from Nkumba University.
"It is a lose win situation that I see. Not a win win situation. It sounds nice to hear, but it does not take place in the real world," he says. โ€œI do not see a situation in which Uganda gains in relation to Chinese markets or projects of development.โ€
He says Uganda is not winning enough jobs or trade and is getting flooded with low quality goods โ€” from household items to appliances to building materials. Those cheaply made products undercut local merchants.```
2018-05-31 16:05:39 UTC
```How does China benefit? He says China gets jobs for engineers and others working on the projects. He points out that building infrastructure in Africa "will lay foundation for further Chinese investment" in the future.```

2018-05-31 16:05:47 UTC

*hmmmmmmm*

2018-05-31 16:05:49 UTC

The Chinese do, what German Kaiserreich did to the colony Samoa.

2018-05-31 16:06:06 UTC

Seems more of a give a man a fish v teach a man to fish

2018-05-31 16:06:17 UTC

Don't be tyranical, keep structures, build up infrastructure and make deals for cheap resources. Everybody wins.

2018-05-31 16:06:25 UTC

It has to start somewhere
