but lmao who knows acer for their laptops anyways

2018-03-20 05:10:46 UTC

they're better than HP, that's for sure

2018-03-20 05:11:34 UTC

if I transition away from chromebooks, I'm likely gonna get an aorus laptop

@Monkey Brain Jake this is gay

2018-03-20 10:44:00 UTC

am i the only one around here thinking about building a burst mining rig?

2018-03-20 14:45:31 UTC

yes, you are

2018-03-20 14:45:50 UTC

only makes sense if you already have the hard drives

2018-03-20 15:53:03 UTC

so... guess what I found in a malwarebytes scan

2018-03-20 15:53:12 UTC

this baby

MY WIFE STILL DOESN'T BELIEVE IN ME

2018-03-20 15:58:03 UTC

@king you're not nice :^(

2018-03-20 15:58:22 UTC

also change your name back to the fancy squiggle text like mine

2018-03-20 18:48:15 UTC

@Polygon so basically you were getting fucked by a virus leeching off of you for the currency of permavirgins

2018-03-20 19:05:17 UTC

sorta, lol

2018-03-20 19:06:25 UTC

I mine when I'm not home, it brings in a few dollars a week, just kinda dumb that some virgins were leeching off of me

2018-03-20 19:07:21 UTC

but now I'm gonna try and figure out how I got it

2018-03-20 19:19:52 UTC

there's a difference between casual mining and literally ruining the GPU market, so you have to go leech off of others

2018-03-20 19:39:01 UTC

cloud mining contracts seem to be paying off pretty well actually

2018-03-20 20:46:05 UTC

so, I'm trying out keyshot

is anyone fluent in it? I'm tryna figure out the color management and all that, I imported this from sketchup, and none of the colors carried

2018-03-21 01:26:54 UTC

I'm gone fishin with friendos. Be back later fellas

2018-03-21 02:02:39 UTC

ok have fun don't drown sweetie

2018-03-21 03:47:23 UTC

@Polygon that build looks good but i already have a monitor

2018-03-21 03:47:36 UTC

should i put the rest into the solid state drive

2018-03-21 03:52:09 UTC

yeah, get like a Samsung 240GB 860 EVO

2018-03-21 03:52:25 UTC

question tho, whats your name about lol

2018-03-21 03:55:33 UTC

lol

2018-03-21 03:55:47 UTC

im an alpha fucking male

2018-03-21 03:56:37 UTC

and how does this look

2018-03-21 03:56:40 UTC
2018-03-21 03:56:52 UTC

im taking stock cooler btw

2018-03-21 03:57:05 UTC

not looking to overclock my cpu

2018-03-21 03:57:17 UTC

looks good, might wanna go for a different version of that GPU though

2018-03-21 03:57:37 UTC

and you can get an OS for like 30 bucks on ebay

2018-03-21 03:57:39 UTC

is asus back

2018-03-21 03:57:40 UTC

bad*

2018-03-21 03:57:44 UTC

oh

2018-03-21 03:57:48 UTC

deadass?

2018-03-21 03:57:53 UTC

dammmm

2018-03-21 03:57:56 UTC

no it's good, but that cooler doesn't look that great

2018-03-21 03:57:58 UTC

yeah

2018-03-21 03:58:12 UTC

or free if you use KMS pico

2018-03-21 03:58:30 UTC

eh

2018-03-21 03:58:36 UTC

stock cooler should do the trick for me

2018-03-21 03:58:45 UTC

get a better power supply, go for the one I picked out

2018-03-21 03:58:47 UTC

not doing highly cpu intensive tasks

2018-03-21 03:58:57 UTC

the stock cooler is alright

2018-03-21 03:59:02 UTC

i mean my build only takes 223 watts

2018-03-21 03:59:04 UTC

I'm talking about the GPU cooler

2018-03-21 03:59:25 UTC

right but you're probably gonna want to keep that PSU in the future

2018-03-21 03:59:33 UTC

ye

2018-03-21 03:59:41 UTC

so get a 500W at least, then it'll have bronze rating

2018-03-21 03:59:46 UTC

kk

2018-03-21 04:00:01 UTC

im not going to be able to build the desktop for a while

2018-03-21 04:00:12 UTC

since its online i have to beg my mum and dad

2018-03-21 04:01:34 UTC

dont have a job yet bud

2018-03-21 04:05:01 UTC

@GirlBeGood I'll help you for free and give the best advice

2018-03-21 04:05:26 UTC

and I'll actually give you parts on paper for reference rather than vaguely tell you what you're looking for

2018-03-21 04:05:50 UTC

hmu tomorrow @7pm EST and I should be ale to help you with it then, knock everything out on the list.

2018-03-21 04:06:51 UTC

Don't worry, I'm versatile depending on use case, I don't have this absurd egotistical bias to get the best hardware for no reason (unless it's an absolute benefit for your needs)

2018-03-21 04:07:05 UTC

ok

2018-03-21 04:07:18 UTC

sounds good Thank you

2018-03-21 04:07:44 UTC

and hmu in DM's when you do, it's more organized than this open chat

2018-03-21 04:07:48 UTC

Im going to get the parts around May

2018-03-21 04:08:02 UTC

Would you be willing to help me in voice channel or

2018-03-21 04:08:10 UTC

actually I can just look up tutorials

2018-03-21 04:16:54 UTC

Nice way of saying "haha this guy doesn't know what he's talking about"

2018-03-21 04:17:10 UTC

I can help you in voice channel, but overall tutorials aren't completely educated up to date as an individual like myself, and aren't appropriating to specific need/desire. If that is what you wanna do though, go for it. Otherwise, my offer is available.

2018-03-21 04:17:25 UTC

I'm not saying you don't know what you're talking about

2018-03-21 04:17:33 UTC

I already showed him a parts list

2018-03-21 04:17:43 UTC

What's his budget?

2018-03-21 04:17:45 UTC

one that I truly believe will get him what he needs on a budget

2018-03-21 04:17:48 UTC

800, he said

2018-03-21 04:17:53 UTC

Show me the list

2018-03-21 04:21:58 UTC

not including the OS ofc, but an ebay key will keep it at like 20 over what he had and it'll have two more cores, in case his workload ever changes

2018-03-21 04:24:57 UTC

That's a decent build, only problem is the small form factor loses versatility, the m-atx mobo doesn't even allow for a second pcie x16 slot, and if he ever DID go beyond his current use, he may run into expandability/compatibility issues.

2018-03-21 04:25:36 UTC

going full ATX is cost prohibitive

2018-03-21 04:25:55 UTC

that's a big IF

2018-03-21 04:26:14 UTC

CPU and architecture are good, motherboard is cheaped out on a but but sufficient, RAM would be more practical as 2x4gb dual channel. get a seagate barracuda>west digi blue

2018-03-21 04:26:20 UTC

that last one may be bias

2018-03-21 04:26:27 UTC

definitely bias

2018-03-21 04:26:29 UTC

also ATX isn't expensive

2018-03-21 04:26:41 UTC

looking at raw statistics, WD blues have a lower failure rate

2018-03-21 04:26:55 UTC

not saying they're better

2018-03-21 04:27:05 UTC

but it's more expensive than MATX

2018-03-21 04:27:17 UTC

these are budget boards, meant for budget oriented people

2018-03-21 04:27:17 UTC

he could spend $30 more on an ATX mob and $25 more on an ATX case, and $15 more on PSU to eliminate upgrade restriction and would keep him right on budget.

2018-03-21 04:28:03 UTC

seeing that he went for a $700 build, it seems like he's not exactly wanting to spend the whole eight hundo

2018-03-21 04:28:21 UTC

being on a "budget" doesn't mean being "imprisoned", the actual question goes to the person in need of the PC

2018-03-21 04:28:38 UTC

So what does HE desire?

2018-03-21 04:28:41 UTC

I just don't think he's gonna go for SLI

2018-03-21 04:28:46 UTC

or crossfire

2018-03-21 04:29:18 UTC

it's not economic in most cases, and it's just a lot of heat and room taken up

2018-03-21 04:29:39 UTC

that future versatility for small extra cost (no more than $100 more but money well spent if he DOES upgrade), or a one-time build for his current needs that will be disposable when his needs change or it becomes a drag for him?

2018-03-21 04:29:56 UTC

I get that the freedom to do so is great, that's my argument for the second amendment, all the time.

2018-03-21 04:30:24 UTC

I know the feeling, I think about that with my board all the time, it's hard to find server boards that support SLI

2018-03-21 04:30:26 UTC

Don't get me wrong, I don't care for SLI or crossfire, but it really depends on the person.

2018-03-21 04:30:32 UTC

Especially fi you have autism

2018-03-21 04:30:38 UTC

and don't want to be pinged

2018-03-21 04:30:55 UTC

or are a dog

2018-03-21 04:30:58 UTC

and angerey

2018-03-21 04:31:05 UTC

and gay

2018-03-21 04:31:42 UTC

Is he gonna use the PC for more than LoL and CS:GO is the real question

2018-03-21 04:31:56 UTC

may he evolve to play more demanding games?

2018-03-21 04:33:06 UTC

Welp, gotta sleep. gnight @Polygon

2018-03-21 04:33:14 UTC

gnight m8

2018-03-21 04:33:34 UTC

don't let the k!kes steal your money while you sleep

2018-03-21 04:34:01 UTC

I'm guessing he's probably gonna use something some day that'll be intensive enough to warrant more than a 1050 Ti

2018-03-21 04:53:33 UTC

At the current cost of the 1050ti, he might as well get a GTX 760,770,780 or anything at least as good as the 760 used alternatively.

2018-03-21 04:53:50 UTC

it'd be way cheaper and more practical for his needs.

2018-03-21 04:53:56 UTC

because of you know, cost.

2018-03-21 04:56:03 UTC

whats sli or crossfire

2018-03-21 04:56:05 UTC

sounds dope af

2018-03-21 04:56:24 UTC

it's where you stripe two of the same card to get the performance of both combined

2018-03-21 04:56:32 UTC

dayummm

2018-03-21 04:56:36 UTC

but it isn't 100% efficient, it is AT MOST like 70% efficient

2018-03-21 04:56:40 UTC

oh

2018-03-21 04:56:48 UTC

so you get 1.7 times the performance for double the cost

2018-03-21 04:56:54 UTC

doesnt sound so dope anymore

2018-03-21 04:56:55 UTC

but FPS has never been a linear measurement

2018-03-21 04:57:09 UTC

eh its fine

2018-03-21 04:57:11 UTC

ill take 1050 ti

2018-03-21 04:57:12 UTC

yeah, but if you already have the first card it can be practical

2018-03-21 04:57:22 UTC

also when you have the top of the line card and want MOAR POWER

2018-03-21 04:57:32 UTC

Lol

2018-03-21 12:26:51 UTC

@Wayne if MGPU becomes more widespread it'd be so much better than SLI
I hope that starts happening sooner

2018-03-21 12:26:59 UTC

cant SLI 1060s ffs

2018-03-21 16:11:53 UTC

post your trophy room

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/356288574485954561/426050327427416064/20180321120715_1.jpg

2018-03-21 17:51:24 UTC

idk what kind of business decision it was to prevent people from SLI'ing 1060's

2018-03-21 17:51:39 UTC

maybe to force people to buy the single better card

2018-03-21 17:51:45 UTC

for both profit and practicality

2018-03-21 18:00:33 UTC

it's like 12 percent better in SLI than a single 1080 I think or something like that

2018-03-21 18:01:14 UTC

and it would've been cheaper, so they had "no choice" but to not support SLI on the 1060 or lower

2018-03-21 19:56:30 UTC

@SchloppyDoggo is it hard to play video games with your arthritis

2018-03-21 20:09:00 UTC

@Sverd you just mad you cant even kill the brood mother on beta

2018-03-21 20:37:58 UTC

what generic survival game is htis

2018-03-21 21:46:20 UTC

"generic survival game" hahaha kid, you made me laugh

2018-03-21 21:46:37 UTC

its ARK: Survival Evolved kiddo, the greatest survival game to ever be made so far

2018-03-21 21:47:15 UTC

>it has the most realistic survival mechanics than any other game and is at the top in its class

2018-03-21 21:47:46 UTC

i bet you spawn on the beach and instantly get killed by a raptor before you even make a spear newfag

2018-03-21 21:52:45 UTC

ARK is ok not really all that ground breaking, and the crafting system is tedious tbh

2018-03-21 21:53:11 UTC

>ARK's crafting system is tedious
geez man, you just outted yourself as a brainlet

2018-03-21 21:54:03 UTC

sorry did I trigger you

2018-03-21 21:54:39 UTC

i will give you that the only tedious crafting system is the food and recipies

2018-03-21 21:54:52 UTC

no you're just making baseless generalizations, lol

2018-03-21 21:55:11 UTC

>only poorfags dont play ARK

2018-03-21 21:56:42 UTC

"baseless generalizations"

2018-03-21 21:56:57 UTC

Well I can explain in detail if you want

2018-03-21 21:57:01 UTC

I have the game

2018-03-21 21:57:24 UTC

and could even go back and give an in-depth look

2018-03-21 21:57:51 UTC

come on man, playing a game for 10hrs doesnt make you an expert on it

2018-03-21 21:58:12 UTC

and if I recall you've made plenty of these "baseless generalizations" on multiple occasions

2018-03-21 21:58:36 UTC

"10hrs doesnt make you an expert on it" see

2018-03-21 21:58:54 UTC

okay

2018-03-21 21:58:56 UTC

ill take the bait

2018-03-21 21:59:00 UTC

have any evidence

2018-03-21 21:59:13 UTC

I don't hate ARK

2018-03-21 21:59:17 UTC

so have you made it off the island and how long did it take you to beat the tek cave

2018-03-21 22:00:05 UTC

No no don't try and divert

2018-03-21 22:00:26 UTC

>hasnt beat the tek cave
>thinks ARK crafting is hard
does your mom know youre a faggot?

2018-03-21 22:01:06 UTC

wtf?

2018-03-21 22:01:27 UTC

since when does "hard" = tedious

2018-03-21 22:01:28 UTC

youre not a real survivor until youve beat the tek cave

2018-03-21 22:03:47 UTC

You're sitting here making accusations and expect me to want to continue the conversation

2018-03-21 22:04:04 UTC

you are nothing short of a fanboy

2018-03-21 22:04:13 UTC

1v1 me then

2018-03-21 22:04:25 UTC

both kitted out with the same gear

2018-03-21 22:04:27 UTC

fuck off

2018-03-21 22:04:28 UTC

and ill still beat u

2018-03-21 22:04:36 UTC

Pepe's Island is the server.

2018-03-21 22:04:40 UTC

you wont join fag

2018-03-21 22:04:59 UTC

yeah I'll join and get my IP logged <:wesmart:359946049588166657>

2018-03-21 22:05:32 UTC

worse, youre a paranoid fag hiding behind "muh IP" MUH IP

2018-03-21 22:05:45 UTC

id rekt your ass naked and with just a club

2018-03-21 22:05:49 UTC

a primitive vlub

2018-03-21 22:06:06 UTC

<:FeelsLELMan:356316501105442817>

2018-03-21 22:21:45 UTC

I think I have an addiction to overclocking

2018-03-21 22:23:06 UTC

my monitors are at 80 hz, my processors are at 3.35 GHz (compared to 3.1 boost), my GPU is at 1430 mhz, got dang

2018-03-21 22:34:36 UTC

que

2018-03-21 23:11:43 UTC

why? Why not

2018-03-21 23:12:22 UTC

I fucking slept from 12:30 to like 3:30 or something I don't get how I survive in this environment

2018-03-21 23:16:24 UTC

overclocking monitors

2018-03-21 23:16:56 UTC

this is a new level of overclocking lmao

2018-03-21 23:27:13 UTC

well, I was hitting 60 FPS in almost every game, I wanted the competitive edge in PUBG

2018-03-21 23:30:48 UTC

helps with frame time issues, since there's one frame every 12.5 ms compared to 16.67 at 60 Hz, on average, lets say a frame is rendered somewhere in between two cycles of a clock, you'd probably want it to get there sooner than later. I don't even have to be at 80 FPS to see a difference, I could be at 30 FPS and see a difference. Next stop: OC to 144Hz (kidding, gonna buy better monitors when I get back from the army)

2018-03-21 23:31:23 UTC
2018-03-21 23:33:24 UTC

oh damn, i probably need to look into that but then again my internet probably wont let that make a difference

2018-03-22 03:13:39 UTC

did you use Precision X or NVidia settings to raise monitor frequency? Also not all monitors will overclock properly

2018-03-22 03:14:00 UTC

my monitor is 144Hz and OC's with an integration to 165Hz

2018-03-22 03:14:15 UTC

there is no downside to the OC, so I'm always @fuso5Hz

2018-03-22 03:14:40 UTC

What

2018-03-22 03:14:43 UTC

ignore that

2018-03-22 03:14:47 UTC

lol

2018-03-22 03:14:51 UTC

Ha

nvidia's software, but I've used other OC software before, the RL2455HM is notorious for being able to overclock to 75Hz

2018-03-22 03:34:48 UTC

im a little nervous about overclocking monitors

2018-03-22 04:00:51 UTC

they don't die

2018-03-22 04:00:53 UTC

usually

2018-03-22 04:01:38 UTC

almost every overclocking utility resets the settings after 15 seconds unless you click confirm

2018-03-22 04:34:00 UTC

already had an issue

2018-03-22 04:34:01 UTC

lol

2018-03-22 04:34:24 UTC

for some reason even though i didnt apply any settings, nvidia driver stopped working, most display things stopped working, and my main monitor is 4hz above stock

2018-03-22 04:34:51 UTC

(i wasnt even messing with this monitor)

2018-03-22 04:34:59 UTC

but i suppose a clean reinstall will fix all that

2018-03-22 04:40:27 UTC

oof

2018-03-22 04:40:39 UTC

is your monitor actually a monitor, or a tv?

2018-03-22 04:40:49 UTC

TV's are a no-no for OC

2018-03-22 04:41:26 UTC

The monitor that is currently OCing is a monitor

2018-03-22 04:41:39 UTC

you can only get up to 64Hz?

2018-03-22 04:41:51 UTC

no, i havent stress tested it

2018-03-22 04:41:52 UTC

when you OC, does your screen brightness/color change?

2018-03-22 04:41:56 UTC

i was actually testing another monitor

2018-03-22 04:42:05 UTC

but for some reason this one took an OC after a reboot

2018-03-22 04:42:30 UTC

either way i have a clean install running right now- drivers seemed a little wonky anyways

2018-03-22 04:42:37 UTC

and no they dont

2018-03-22 04:43:08 UTC

good, if they do usually that means the monitor isn't meant to withstand the OC

2018-03-22 04:44:05 UTC

what i must wonder now is can i overclock a CRT just for shits and giggles?

2018-03-22 04:44:50 UTC

CRT?

2018-03-22 04:45:01 UTC

an old ass monitor

2018-03-22 04:45:04 UTC

yes

2018-03-22 04:45:10 UTC

even has screenburn

2018-03-22 04:45:23 UTC

those things doln't function the same way

2018-03-22 04:45:30 UTC

they don't have scaling or anything of the sort

2018-03-22 04:45:43 UTC

damn

2018-03-22 04:45:54 UTC

they don't have processors inside is what I mean, so they probably can't be OC'd

2018-03-22 04:46:17 UTC

the display output is analog

2018-03-22 04:46:35 UTC

yep
good ol vga

2018-03-22 04:46:44 UTC

need an adapter to get it to work with my 1060

2018-03-22 04:47:42 UTC

I don't mean the cable, I mean the output to display on the screen, involves analog oscillating waves rather than binary and algorithms

2018-03-22 04:49:00 UTC

yeah im not fluent in monitor technicalities lmao

2018-03-22 04:49:53 UTC

take an old tv apart

2018-03-22 04:49:59 UTC

you'll see what I mean

2018-03-22 20:03:57 UTC
