2017-11-28 04:40:23 UTC

Doesn't make you dumb though.

2017-11-28 04:40:41 UTC

Where are you getting this $1.05 from

2017-11-28 04:40:50 UTC

Where is this 5 cents coming from

2017-11-28 04:40:59 UTC

you see

2017-11-28 04:41:07 UTC

The bat costs $1 more than the ball

2017-11-28 04:41:10 UTC

iq is the ability to think logically and solve complex problems

2017-11-28 04:41:11 UTC

not $1.05

2017-11-28 04:41:21 UTC

this question is a great example of this

2017-11-28 04:41:43 UTC

because a person with a higher iq can resolve that there is, in fact, something deeper to this problem

2017-11-28 04:41:57 UTC

There is nothing deeper to it

2017-11-28 04:42:03 UTC

You're throwing in this $1.05 figure

2017-11-28 04:42:07 UTC

which makes no sense

2017-11-28 04:42:15 UTC

im sorry but this is proving the point here

2017-11-28 04:42:31 UTC

You haven't explained how it isn't 10 cents

2017-11-28 04:42:46 UTC

You brought it out of your ass

2017-11-28 04:42:56 UTC

thats the answer though

2017-11-28 04:42:58 UTC

5 cents

2017-11-28 04:43:03 UTC

Explain how

2017-11-28 04:43:04 UTC

X is bat, Y is ball, Z is total
X+Y=Z , X= Y+1.00, Z= 1.10, (Y+1.00)+Y= 1.10
2Y= 0.10
Y=0.05

2017-11-28 04:43:07 UTC

.05 + 1.05 = 1.10

2017-11-28 04:43:24 UTC

1.05 is 1.00 more than .05

2017-11-28 04:43:36 UTC

The total is $1.10

2017-11-28 04:43:39 UTC

the bat costs 1.00 more

2017-11-28 04:43:48 UTC

1.05 is 1.00 more than .05

2017-11-28 04:44:00 UTC

Yes

2017-11-28 04:44:02 UTC

The total is $1.10

2017-11-28 04:44:02 UTC

soo

2017-11-28 04:44:04 UTC

do the math

2017-11-28 04:44:15 UTC

Holy shit you're stupid

2017-11-28 04:44:21 UTC

,,,;;;;;;.

2017-11-28 04:44:21 UTC

The total is 1 dollar and 10 cents

2017-11-28 04:44:24 UTC

not 1 dollar and 5 cents

2017-11-28 04:44:25 UTC

YES

2017-11-28 04:44:28 UTC

fuck

2017-11-28 04:44:28 UTC

I know people who aren't good at math, it's fine, either you can practice it, or decide to have skills in a different area.

2017-11-28 04:44:38 UTC

this isnt a math problem

2017-11-28 04:44:42 UTC

this is a logic problem

2017-11-28 04:44:48 UTC

math problems can be logic problems

2017-11-28 04:44:52 UTC

they overlap

2017-11-28 04:44:54 UTC

Where did you get the 2 y from @Chillin Chum

2017-11-28 04:45:40 UTC

Follow that message again, I edited it so that it's easier to read.

2017-11-28 04:46:06 UTC

That doesn't answer my question

2017-11-28 04:46:10 UTC

Where are you getting 2Y

2017-11-28 04:46:14 UTC

There's 1 ball, not 2

2017-11-28 04:46:34 UTC

Algebra. It works like that.

2017-11-28 04:46:37 UTC

You're pretending I'm retarded for not being able to understand this yet you fail to explain it

2017-11-28 04:46:40 UTC

Nope

2017-11-28 04:46:48 UTC

There's 1 ball, not 2

2017-11-28 04:47:08 UTC

Where the fuck did you get 2 from

2017-11-28 04:47:23 UTC

Hmmm.
It's just that I don't think I'd be a good math teacher. And i assumed you understood how it worked. I apologize for making that assumption then.

2017-11-28 04:47:25 UTC

we are trying to explain this

2017-11-28 04:47:34 UTC

And you are failing

2017-11-28 04:47:36 UTC

we are both trying to explain this to him

2017-11-28 04:48:52 UTC

I asked you where you were getting $1.05 from

2017-11-28 04:48:53 UTC

I'll try anyway. X is our variable, or unknown number representative of the price of the bat.
Y is the price of the ball, similarly.
We know that whatever thier prices are, they have to add up to 1.10.

2017-11-28 04:49:16 UTC

So, we can write X+Y=1.10

2017-11-28 04:49:52 UTC

However, we also know that the bat is a dollar more then the ball, so what we do is say this.
X=Y+1.00

2017-11-28 04:49:53 UTC

@Cotton Do you get this

2017-11-28 04:49:57 UTC

Am I just retarded and don't understand this

2017-11-28 04:50:16 UTC

What we can do is replace the x in that equation with that info!

2017-11-28 04:50:52 UTC

X+Y=1.10 becomes
(Y+1.00)+Y=1.10

2017-11-28 04:51:05 UTC

That's where I got my 2nd Y.

2017-11-28 04:51:36 UTC

It is information of one unknown number based off the other. But if we know this kind of info, we can isolate the other.

2017-11-28 04:51:47 UTC

Okay I see now

2017-11-28 04:52:00 UTC

But how the fuck do you get 5 cents

2017-11-28 04:52:08 UTC

Oh nevermind

2017-11-28 04:52:09 UTC

If we want to after, we can check our work, replace the number we found for Y, or the ball, with that number.

2017-11-28 04:53:09 UTC

okay well you're both terrible at explaining this

2017-11-28 04:53:48 UTC

do you understand yet

2017-11-28 04:53:58 UTC

3 trick math questions don't represent IQ

2017-11-28 04:54:13 UTC

2Y+1.00=1.10
2Y=0.10
Y=0.05
X+0.05= 1.10
X=1.05
1.05+0.05=1.10
And it fits all the requirements.

2017-11-28 04:54:16 UTC

I'm in the middle of doing an IQ test with a psychologist

2017-11-28 04:54:44 UTC

I still have 2 more parts to go through but so far, I scored 102 and 103 in some shit

2017-11-28 04:54:55 UTC

I can't remember what it was, I think one of them was math

2017-11-28 04:55:17 UTC

Actually I think the other was long term memory

2017-11-28 04:56:00 UTC

In any case, there's something to be said for mentorship, education, and training.
Sometimes, it isn't the student, but the teacher (or lack thereof.)

2017-11-28 04:56:06 UTC

I scored 124 in auditory processing and 126 in short term memory

2017-11-28 04:56:14 UTC

Or something, I don't remember exactly, but the numbers are exact

2017-11-28 04:57:01 UTC

Obviously I still have to complete the rest but this averages to about 113, almost 114

2017-11-28 04:57:23 UTC

That's somewhat higher than average

2017-11-28 04:57:42 UTC

But IQ doesn't measure social intelligence, creativity, ect.

2017-11-28 04:58:20 UTC

it doesnt

2017-11-28 04:58:30 UTC

it just measures how well you perform in those areas

2017-11-28 04:58:47 UTC

These are 3 mathematical questions that relate to speed/calculation

2017-11-28 04:58:52 UTC

Doesn't predict IQ

2017-11-28 04:58:58 UTC

Trick questions at that

2017-11-28 04:59:04 UTC

thats what iq is

2017-11-28 04:59:09 UTC

Uh, no

2017-11-28 04:59:14 UTC

the ability to analyze complex problems that seem so simple

2017-11-28 04:59:16 UTC

I'll admit that I don't know everything there is to politics, but that's ok, because I know that not everything is decided by the government. Can they be opressive? Oh, absolutely, and I am no fan of overly big government. However, it is not the end all be all (isn't that genetics? /s), and I feel some people have yet to grasp that.

2017-11-28 04:59:21 UTC

3 trick math questions don't represent all IQ

2017-11-28 05:00:11 UTC

aight i have another one

2017-11-28 05:00:16 UTC

this one has no math

2017-11-28 05:00:25 UTC

click culture fair

2017-11-28 05:00:26 UTC

>online IQ tests

2017-11-28 05:00:27 UTC

it is quick

2017-11-28 05:00:29 UTC

you really are a retard

2017-11-28 05:00:35 UTC

you're gonna get them wrong

2017-11-28 05:00:38 UTC

In any case, the ability to analyze complex problems doesn't guarantee success by any standard, nor does always inhibit it. It is only one tool in the toolbox.
