Psychology is one that is precious to me & I think they're doing bad things to it

its interesting to me to think how a lot of women get into this field, naturally. At least on the counseling branch of it. And it's typically liberal. HMMM.

I've met many therapists. I see that it's true. There has been some exceptions where I felt they weren't however. Like my current therapist. All I know is that shes a christian & she basically warned me that a lot are liberals so I think thats a good sign

so ever since then on and off

I see mine once a month and it's mostly to tell her progress

Why did you need it to begin with?

Well, I don't think I actually needed it when my mom first put me in

she basically did that bc she was a single mother and really didn't know how to parent

so reaching out was a help for her, mostly

She put me in bc she noticed I had emotional regulation issues. I would cry over little things and stay crying

So I guess in that sense I needed it, I witnessed a lot of bad things as a baby & infant, and dealt with trauma mostly from my mother at a young age

I was put in when I was 11

Went until 20

Has it helped you at all ?

I can say it deff has for me, for the few good therapists I had that really knew what they were doing.

It did at the time. But the medication didn’t. I’ve been pill / medication free for 5 years this May.

I never been to a therapist before

I guess I'm lucky

Oh yeah I'm not crazy about the meds

I'd never suggest it to a client unless they showed they really needed it, like if they were suicidal

Well as long as you have a good outlet

I personally think counseling is healing when with the right person for you

I had a lot of family problems kids my age didn’t typically have. Then my best friend killed him self and I went back. And. Then I went again when my second best friend overdosed. But the pills made me really out of it, and made me sleep heavy and dream intensely and vividly.

Oh yup. A med I took before gave me sleep paralysis lol

I had soooooo many issues man

home situation with my mom was messed up

school was messed up bc kids and teachers hated my guts

no friends

suicidal

self harm

witnessed domestic violence & sexual abuses

only thing I didn't ever get into was drugs and promiscuity so I was blessed indeed

Me too. I would cut class, get in fist fights, do drugs, get in shouting matches with my dad face to face. I was suicidal for a period, and was hospitalized in a ward three different times between 17-20. Lol

that was so normal in my environment

I had my promiscuous phase.

Oh yeah I was in hospitals numerous times

locked up twice for the same charge

second time i violated

I was arrested twice between 17-19. For assault and petty larceny.

in elementary and middle school I was bad. But surprisingly in high school I was good for the most part

My crazy was saved for home with mom

Lol, I have a clean criminal record Hahahaha. Both those charges were expunged. They didn’t show up on my state police background check when I purchased my first handgun. Lol I was still a minor when the assault charge came, and I had to do court ordered anger management classes. Both were misdemeanors.

High school became an escape for me from my personal problems so I enjoyed it greatly
