@DarthSammich Did you watch the whole scene? Man, the music, the voice acting. The sudden silence when the mercs back away. But yeah, I think a lot of the symbolism in MGS is somtimes a tad on the nose, when characters spend ages droning on about memes, aside from the ending of MGS2, that shit freaks you out. Still, I think it's enjoyable to listen to. I defo think the opening to MGS4 would work in a movie.

You have to play them to get the full impact.
The Psycho Mantis boss? The ending to MGS2? You can't get that from watching a clip on YouTube, moreover, MGS pioneered storytelling in games. There were very few games that even tried to tell impactful stories with true meaning before the likes of MGS.

You should be able to ally with them if you're with the legion, though, or at least persuade Caesar to do so. Why would technology hoarders come into conflict with people who abhor technology? If you can get them to form a truce with the NCR, it should be doubly so with the legion. Seems like a good way to keep advanced tech out of the hands of those who aren't part of Caesar's inner circle is to give it to the Brotherhood for safekeeping, in exchange they will guard the freeways from their hated enemy.
Plus, their views and opinions on society and the wasteland really aren't that different. They even have a similar quasi-religious aesthetic. The main difference is that the Brotherhood are isolationist, and the legion are Imperialist.
