I'm planning on upgrading my pc by moving it into a different case since my current one has no airflow at all, anyone ever work with the Thermaltake Versa H18? I'm planning on placing a micro itx mobo and a low profile gpu inside.
I'm choosing the case cause it's cheap, and seems good for the price, I'll be spending the money I save on a better psu instead.
Seems like a good idea
Fracrical cases are good aswell if your look for cheap and airflow
I'll look into that brand, first time hearing about it tbh.
nothings showing up when I look it up
fractal pc case
ah, you meant Fractal Design
yeah, I'm looking at the meshify case actually, might wait a bit since my budget is a bit low and get that instead
Ya it's a solid case one of my bois has it
Great airflow and easy to cool with a few fans
And has dust filters which are nice
Case stays clean
yeah, one of my top choices for a case, was just thinking of the H18 because of how cheap it is
getting new parts on the 27th
ryzen 3 2200g and 16gb ddr4 corsair vengence
are you going with a small form factor pc?
what are you gonna use it for? just regular office stuff?
Me and my cousin's PC
Boice
Ye thanks mang
so my PC is a prebuilt from HP and it has a 240w psu, is it possible that the gpu is undervolted, which is why it doesn't perform as good as it should?
What's your GPU?
@«Hellhound» gtx1050ti
Hmm
I think 240 is too low
300 is minimum wattage required
so better upgrade to a 550 or a 450 if you plan on going lower end
Problem with HP is most likely using a proprietary 24 pin ATX connector
also, does your 1050ti have a 6 pin PCIE connector?
I haven't checked tbh, I'll take a look after I'm done updating some stuff
also, whats your full system specs?
I ended up ordering a new motherboard already tho
whatcha going with?
lemme list out my current specs first
Yeah, most likely that Prebuilt HP PSU isnt gonna fit your new MB
I already ordered a cx550m from corsair
Those units tend to be hit or miss
but, if yours turn out to be good, then its a good PSU
I think there was a bad batch or something
i5 2500 3.3ghz
gtx 1050 ti
16gb ddr3 ram
512gb ssd
2tb hdd
an optical drive
some sort of proprietary motherboard
But i doubt you're going to push it to its maximum rating anyways
yeah, I placed all my parts in a psu calculator, and it said I only needed 360w
also this case is horrible, only has a single 60mm fan
Just keep in mind Intel calculates its power usage at idle
yeah
AMD calculates at load iirc
I'll probably end up getting a better psu later on and place this one in a lower end build for my sister
2500 is still an ok CPU, moderate to light gaming of older titles
yeah, I only play 2 games at most anyways
I'll probably end up getting an i7 3770k and OCing that
im the same though since im just running an i5 6600k and 1060, so just one step above ya
aince they're cheap and fit in my motherboard
what about a 4790k?
@«Hellhound» different socket
I'll have to spend more and get a new mobo
I'm a casual gamer anyways
so no need to spend so much
GPU would prolly be the one higher on your list of priorities lmao
I've heard the 3770k can last pretty long even after OCing anyways, my friend has had one at 4.4ghz for 6 years now
but yeah, solid unit overall for low mid gaming
Iirc 3770k is Solder
solder?
The Integrated Heat Spreader (the metal bit you see that has the information) is soldered to the Die (actual silicon)
oh damn
it isnt
What's your cooler?
If you're planning to OC, get a good cooler for the 3770k
since most likely that TIM (thermal interface material, tldr thermal paste) between the die and IHS might be crusty
My current one is stock for the prebuilt, but I'm ordering a budget cooler that a couple of my friends tested from aliexpress called the snowman t5
since its years old
Snowman is a good cooler
its been making the rounds as a good budget cooler
also
look at this cooler if you still havent ordered
ok
Scythe Fuma 2
Basically a more accessible version of a Noctua NH-D15
And better ram clearance
cool, looks nice too
I'll check it out for the build I'm gonna do later on
depends on your color coordination for your build tho
planning to change mine out since it rests on the glass
also,a its a fatass cooler
yeah, I'll probably end up placing it in a more mid-range build for one of my family members who does editing
Ryzen is a good choice
For production workload
It just rests on the glass
It JUST fits
hot
Might change it out for something smaller and ar gee bee
I'm gonna get him something full tower since they have the space
Nice
Even though this case has filters for it, still pretty dirty
and its an airflow focused one
i might rig up another layer for the filtration
