2500 is still an ok CPU, moderate to light gaming of older titles
yeah, I only play 2 games at most anyways
I'll probably end up getting an i7 3770k and OCing that
im the same though since im just running an i5 6600k and 1060, so just one step above ya
aince they're cheap and fit in my motherboard
what about a 4790k?
@«Hellhound» different socket
I'll have to spend more and get a new mobo
I'm a casual gamer anyways
so no need to spend so much
GPU would prolly be the one higher on your list of priorities lmao
I've heard the 3770k can last pretty long even after OCing anyways, my friend has had one at 4.4ghz for 6 years now
but yeah, solid unit overall for low mid gaming
Iirc 3770k is Solder
solder?
The Integrated Heat Spreader (the metal bit you see that has the information) is soldered to the Die (actual silicon)
oh damn
it isnt
What's your cooler?
If you're planning to OC, get a good cooler for the 3770k
since most likely that TIM (thermal interface material, tldr thermal paste) between the die and IHS might be crusty
My current one is stock for the prebuilt, but I'm ordering a budget cooler that a couple of my friends tested from aliexpress called the snowman t5
since its years old
Snowman is a good cooler
its been making the rounds as a good budget cooler
also
look at this cooler if you still havent ordered
ok
Scythe Fuma 2
Basically a more accessible version of a Noctua NH-D15
And better ram clearance
cool, looks nice too
I'll check it out for the build I'm gonna do later on
depends on your color coordination for your build tho
planning to change mine out since it rests on the glass
also,a its a fatass cooler
yeah, I'll probably end up placing it in a more mid-range build for one of my family members who does editing
Ryzen is a good choice
For production workload
