I dont know if this belongs here or not.
Alright you pieces of slut. Class time. In order to be lethal and efficient in the feild you gotta be able to shoot, move and communicate. Cant show ya shooting shit so lets talk about movement.
Now i know many of us are working with about a fireteam sized element on average.
Here are several formations for a fireteam. The bottom right panel depicts the file this is one of the fastest but least protected formations.
Bottom mid shows the wedge, and the echelon mirrors the wedge, these both offer the most security and control for the fire team leader to deploy his men as he sees fit
Bottom left depicts the diamond this formation has good akl around security and is often used in urban environments.
Here you can see overlapping sectors of fire, the sectors of fire overlap fir security but the 15/40 rule applies here. (15degrees off of friends bipod/tripod, 40degrees for free weapons)
When patrolling in a wedge the #4 man checks the rear security.
Ill stop here for now till i get some feedback
I have some instructions on tracking in the African bush Iโll post
But is that something you can actually discuss
Thats kinda what im going for here not just a flow of information but useable shit to the un informed.
Next thing up is a breakdown of bounding and stuff (think heat)
The RHODIE shit is outdated bullshit
Like don't get me wrong. It was highspeed in the day, but outdated now
It's okay, it'll be relevant again very soon
I gotta at least get through basic troop manuvering. Once we get past how to move we branch out as long as its relevant.
Ill teach classes on clearing rooms/bldgs, patrolling, patrol bases, op/ hides.
Itโs not rhodie itโs SADF and itโs useful tracking skills not really tactics
Stay focused class discuss the material provided.
Ok sure thing
Does anyone have questions on the formations?
Also know that terrain can affect these
As well as mettc
Mission enemy time terrain civilian consideration
What formation is suggested for patrolling mountains such as the Appalachians
Prob file
Just make sure yall have a 10m spacing and noone is perfectly on line
This is what Iโm talking ab
I kinda have no idea what im lookinnat
I took this itโs a 45 min climb to the bottom
Looks like mars rover took the photo
Terrain
Itโs a chirt pit I see as the perfect strongpoint
Clear on all sides for ab 200m
Be a great place for machineguns that 200m means noone is running up on ya too quick
But unless you have like 30 dudes and support its bad
Lemme grab some google earth imagines images to show u the scale I understand there is a manpower problem
Thats why most of what ima go iver will be at the team level
Low intensity warfare right
Like maybe if your men were really proficient yoy could be 2 2 man teams but otherwise having 3dudes under 1 competent guy is best
I see
We cant even run a traditional fire team because no saws
I have ab 4 or 5 people I know near me how would be willing to fight in shtf situation
But the thing is you need to train NOW
Only one has SBRs and suppressors
Even just rifles is ok.
I know I would love to organize something around me
The most logical thing is pistol-rifle-kit
I do have a SW40 and an Anderson AR in progress rn
I have a carrier and 3A plates
Iโve been using my sks up till now
Should this be carried to boogaloo talk
Im sorry. I trust once funds are in order you will get some solid hardware. Glock9 being the standard
Fair enough
10 bucks picked up 2 great books. Definitely will get more info for yous
I've got the Ranger handbook that looks like that somewhere
Ive got the ranger handbook too. These have some of the lower level tasks that the rgr doesn't cover
@wendiko the fm23-10 is another must have. If you live near a military base check out any off post shop. They usually have isles of FM's for sale and they're all solid af
I had 23-10 but my buddy went to Afghan and never returned it
So im thinking most of today is gonna be little shit. Ill give yall some acronyms weither you use em or not is on u
S.a.l.t.
A fairly simple one used for reporting activity.
Size
activity
Location
Time
Pretty obvious, whats the size of the element your observing? What are they doing? What time is it? Where are you?
A more advanced form of this is S.A.L.U.T.E.
Size, activity, location, uniform, time,equipment
Another one well talk about is G.O.T.W.A.R.
This one should told to your rear commander or who ever your leaving behind while you do something
Going. Where are you going
Others. Who are you taking
Time what time it is now
When, when youll be back
Actions, actions taken on contact, for both you and your rear element
Radios, maintain coms
Rhodesian Invasion with 10 dudes and a Cessna
Tell me now boys quick and efficient or long and profitable
Your answer will determine my recommended strategy
Couldnt quick and effecient lead the way to long and profit
Establish beachhead for the invasion force
Run asymetrical in the meantime
For profit we need to draw armies out for looting
Ah
We could do both
I refuse to use proper frontlines if I only have 10 guys
Beachhead
No we canโt, cause the armies wonโt fight for Quickie
Beat ZANU at their own game, Selous scout style
The Quick strategy involves quick landings and get outs
Fly Bys
It works better with Helis but a Cessna could do it as well
So like hit em and leave in half time to reinforce deak
