one direct hit and boom boom
QE doesn't have one
and it's not small
WW2 era BBs didn't have them either
QE?
Queen Elizabeth class
the new british CVs
ww2 era ships are shit compared to even modern frigates tbh
Most nations donโt have real navy so bb is pointless
^
@atomic Death Troopers are basically the closest thing in canon to the Terminator tbh
terminators arent mechs tho
theyre just yuge power armour
Death Troopers aren't
I didn't say they were
centurions also arent mechs
But regardless, the idea is the same in battletech
Death Troopers are basically cyborgs reeeeeee
theyre just a space marine *inside* of a space marine
You have 'mechs around because they are big and hit harder than anything in their relative price range
the logic in battle tech is retardedly contrived
>constant war
death troopers can say the n word
strongest troopers in the empire
>lets not build space stations to defend our planets
Space Space Marine
>lets not build fleets to intercept our enemies
They do make space stations
There actually were some plans to make BBs in the 50s, but the striking capability of CVs was just so much higher, that they scrapped it
It's just that a space station is easy to bypass
The fanboy competition over yet? Who won?
nobody
no one
No won
EEC ran away
but anime sucks
lol
And a lot of space stations is expensive and vulnerable
Then build ships
That's right you're all losers <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>
which universe are we talking?
You could probably make the case for a Gundam being comparable in power to like a regular Frigate in SW <:BIGBRAIN:501101491428392991>
Those canโt outrun cruisers surly
They also do build fleets but the issue is that the hyperdrives are so expensive that for most of the timeline it's not really affordable
@Goddess Tyche if youre on this server by definition youre a loser
And the manufacturing yards for the drives are not at all common
thats another thing
40k has the same problem
the concept of losing shit tons of knowledge
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
is absolutely retardedly contrived
i dunno if star wars does it too
They do
@Lucienne d'Anwyl ye kinda
but theyre acting as if knowledge would completely dissapear off the face of the world
ships is SW haven't really advanced much
if some cataclysm happened
but it wouldnt
in 1000s of years
it would
for whatever reason
Star Wars has a like 5 planets that build all the ships
Knowledge doesn't disappear in Btech
think Alexandria library
the most they've advanced is in like...weaponry
shitton of knowledge disappeared right there
@leavethisbotnet nothing was lost in the alexandria library
they went from Atomic weapons to Anti-Matter ones to Lasers and shit
ComStar just decides to hoard it
@leavethisbotnet that was in ancient times
youre acting like it was the only library in existence
@Flavius Stilicho 5 heavily guarded planets, mind you
by the time of its misfortunes it wasnt even that big a deal
rome had shit tons of libraries
it took the Rebels months to take over the Empire's main shipyard
alexandria didnt hoard its stuff you know
stuff gets copied by scribes
and they only won because the Empire pussied out and surrended
put in new libraries
all around the mediterranean
even tho they could have easily waited out the Rebels
and the Empire was doing pretty good, too
decentralized storing means virtually nothing is lost when any one library burns
Kuat was REALLY armored
B-Wing bombers didn't do shit to the armor
and the alexandrian library took multiple hits as well
it wasnt one single sdden destruction
yeah, of course. It's more of a breaking point
Point is, lot of knowledge of history was lost
and then they used AT-ATs against starfighters
barely any knowledge of history was lost
through all of the middle ages
and goddamn, they stomped the rebels hard
You can't know that
barely anything was lost
because it's fucking lost
even if people didnt entertain it
the roman empire
which lived through the middle ages
kept pretty much everything in tact
