Teacher would keep a paddle on the wall near the door.
oh the old days..
are you that old?
From a rural town. So they probably were a bit resistant to change.
we need some of that BACK
And yeah, I'm probably much older than most of the people who use discord.
The physical punnishment is wrong.
But you dont actually need to get rid of the authority figure
It helped form my anti-authoritarian beliefs.
Teachers can be authority figures without resorting to violence
I agree. And they should.
I actually come from a savage private school.
When I got into a modern school
I was so fucking gratefull
and I hated my spoiled fucking peers
because they didn't appriciate it
My first reaction was actually that I wanted the teachers to be more authoritarian
to the other students who misbehaved
the problem with FREE schools.
is that the kids who are assholes
are not punnished.
I mostly just want to see the law applied even handedly and not selectively.
the problem with asshole school
is that everyone are punnished collectively all the time
(and for all consensual crimes to be legal)
LOL
Maybe I am a libertarian.
I consider myself very libertarian as well.
Collective punishment seems useful in the military I guess?
but I think society needs to be mix of the power we give to authorities
and the freedrom we demand for ourselves.
I dont think so.
I think collective punishment just damage the group morale
its not like soldiers get many luxeries to begin with..
also collective punishment
assumes that you dont know who is guilty..
you could speculate that just being in the army
and volunteering for a fucking war
is a sacrifice equivalent to collective punnishment already
Well, you get paid and some of it is tax free ...
if you survive and when you get back home...
True
My brain is going off on a bit of a libertarian tangent.
It pretty much says that degeneracy ain't nobody's business.
I'm revisiting my views on authoritarianism and degeneracy though.
My experience with authoritarianism in grade school, was that questioning it wasn't allowed.
Children have no rights, bigger stronger men have rights and can beat you.
hello
Howdy.
I am not athoritarianist!
Why not?
its a stupid system..
It sounds like it would be useful for having society work as one functional unit.
leader= authority = IS NOT THE SAME AS DICTATORSHIP
have you heard about unity in diversity..
No, but I'm cringing thinking about it ๐
Basically I a mutualist and a liberal conservative.
Society can be one efficient unit
and people can still be free within it.
I'm not sure I agree.
look individual freedrom
happens on a smaller scale
than the collective scale
True
from a larger perspective individuals
are the building block that society is based on
Mutualism is a philosophy that among other things decree
that people work as a collective only when neccessary
and spend most of their time as free individuals.
Free individuals that are able to worship their own false gods, engage in buggery, use meth?
for example if you go to work
then at work you give up your individuality
but after work you regain your individuality.
Sounds good so far.
What about in state controlled areas, public space, parks?
Also if there is a war , everyone give up their individualism for survival
by being conscripted
and then at peace they regain their individuality.
I honestly think that goverment officials
are capable of running parks to everyones betterment
without being tyrants
I think public space should be controlled by the goverment
because otherwise gangs will just show up
and people will throw trash everywhere
and vandalize
if we have a good task for the goverment to handle
and we know what the purpose is
we shouldn't be so paranoid
Generally I believe that humanity is vermin. So yes, they'll trash a park.
Unfortunately any authority that we put in charge of keeping the park safe and clean, will most likely also be vermin.
I dont think so
I think there are good and bad security services..
guards tend to become more soft and mild
when crime goes down..
What are your views on gun control?
you can see that in countries that have low crime rates
than police and security staff become more gentle
speaking of crime and authorities
I think only home owners and members of sport clubs
should be allowed to have guns
Personally I trust a homeless man more than I trust a police officer. At least there is no requirement that a homeless person be stupid like there is for cops.
I wish it weren't the case.
US police system needs an overhaul
I think you have the right to shoot anyone to break into
your house or try to steal your cattle or your car
IF THAT CAR IS PARKED ON YOUR YARD.
Unfortunately, that isn't the case.
well I am all for militan patroits loving guns
but I dont think guns should be sold outside
of regulated guns or sport clubs
Kaarma wasn't white, and his victim was. I wonder if "white privilege" played a role here.
But, since Diren wasn't a local, he didn't know you get shot if you do shit like that.
well with my knowledge of politics I am pretty sure I could exterminate american criminality
long story short ... nothing like this can happen in my system..
The vandalism or the dispatching of a vandal?
vandalism..
Interesting.
I dont know anything about this case...
I only know it because it is Montana news
basically the first thing I would do
would be demolish or close down every single public space
where vandals gathers
its actually very cost effective and easy
Ahh, this was a string of burglaries and vandalism in Kaarma's garage.
Then he laid some bait, and watched with a loaded shotgun. Then fired four times into the darkness without knowing if he was in any danger.
Dead student.
so Kaarma basically say he had the right to kill those people
because they where breaking into his home?
Yes
what was his relationship with the student?
Never met him before.
What the fuck did the student do there ?
Probably wishes he never had ...
Steal beer and various other crap.
