you said "Fascism is the result of failed communism"
So I said that isn't the only way
Neither did I. I said that it inevitably follows communism.
Not that it cannot arise in other circumstances.
Do you understand?
right but that's how I read it
Oh I understand, I was simply making sure you understood.
Huh
Communism sets up an unworkable economic structure and a very clear political structure. And because people need some sort of economic structure to fulfill their material needs, Communism will fail. But the Authoritarian political structure will still exist even if the country opens itself to markets. Therefor, it will become Fascist.
Which is then followed by capitalism
Then by monarchy
And the cycle repeats back to capitalism again
History repeats
Are Fascism and Monarchy all that different, if the Monarchy is not heriditary, though?
They are
that's what monarchism is
A monarchy does not control the means of production but they do control the currency
Because all that Fascism really means (according to its creator, Mussolini) is that there is nothing beyond the purview of the state.
Facism owns the means of production but does not cintrol tjem
Mussolini wasn't the inventor of facism
that seems bit hamfisted
Modern Fascism.
It was a spanish fellow
no, but he was the first to control a nation with it
Right before him
fascism is a way of state>individual
and yes communism is as well
And this is why definitions are important. Because if we're using the same word but with different definitions, then that's where most of the misunderstanding comes from.
what different definitions of fascism are there?
There are 72 variations
There are twenty definitions on Wikipedia, I believe.
72 definitions total
oh no it's like gender studies...
Mhm
Right. That's why I use the definition Mussolini came up with, and make sure to clarify that that is my definition.
I use the inventors definition
So ya know
The original one
But not exclusively that one, correct?
Because you yourself said there are 72 variations.
And I think my definition is an umbrella term that would cover every single one of them.
At the end of the day facism and communism behave the same.
Just different justification
i like how theres a gap refered to as the Lunatics
They behave the same, there's just more death due to famine in one of them ๐คฃ
The idea is that commies and facists are the same with a different paint job
So the further from center you are the more different you are, but you slowly become more similar as you get into the extremes.
Not necessarily. I would say Paleo-conservatism is pretty well outside the horse shoe.
Unless they consider that Center Right?
Center right
Uh....if Iโm far right conservative where I dislike (and these are just examples) LGTBQ, womenโs rights, hate other races and hate other religions,.. then how can I be similar to far left when they support LGTBQ, womenโs rights, and support other races and support other religions?....that...makes no sense to me.
They don't really support any of those things
They use it as an excuse to surpress your speech then take over.
Both are totalitarian societies that operate the same, they just use different excuses.
I said โthese are just examplesโ. Which I meant in what I hated and in terms for the argument.
It's about control
Their motivation is just different excuses.
alright, then give me an example of how some polar opposites on that chart are similar together.
Communist and facist. Both are police states that have a controlled economy and have a massive disconnect betweem the rich and poor.
The idea is that if you are one of the poles then the two idealogies are quite similar.
If they are east and west then they are polar opposites.
You clearly didn't read what I said.
Polar opposites... can mean directly across form each other.
No
I didn't say anything about polar opposites
You did.
Like European Socialists and a Fascism Theory
Those weren't being compared
Communism and facism were
Yeah, thatโs was I said. And thatโs what I meant when I said โpolar oppositesโ
European socalism and conservatism would be.
Actually look at their placement
Since they are east and west they are opposites
They are not either of the poles.
You do realize, a pole doesnโt mean a north/south comparison.
In this case it does
Stop worrying about semantics
Take a D-cell battery the square battery, for this example. The polar opposites are side-by-side.
Now apply it to that chart. Since polar opposites can be across from each other...I would like you to give me an example of how any two polar opposites on that chart...are similar. Thatโs all Iโm asking.
When you are reffering to a globe it means north and south
That is a globe
Then based off that logic...tell me how these polar opposites are similar then.
Either:
Lunatic fringe and Center
Republicans and Soviet Union
or. Democrats and Fascism Theory
I never said anything aboutnpolar opposites
You did
I said if they are at the poles together
Then they are similar
So democrats and republicans are similar
Facists and communists are similar
Are you fucking stupid or just being a pain?
Fucking furries
They way how you argued that, I took it as the more one direction you go from the circle, the more similar with all extremes you are... not just the right is more similar with the right side, the top more similar to the top, the left more similar to all thatโs left. Etc.
That. Was my misconception
Everyone else got it
But eh
Again, my misconception on what you meant by it. Not everyone is going to pick up on what you meant. But thatโs an argument for a different time
I suppose
the way the political maps are set up arent all much based on ideologs. the way they are set up as followed. the X Axis is Econimical based, if you are more socialist in economics you fall to the left on the map if you are capitalist you call to the right of the map. the Y axis is how much power you want the government to have, with the top of the chart being authoritarian and the bottom being anarchism
the horseshoe theory really doesnt work if you know what the political map actually is about
It is great for showing the actual affects on society.
As in it shows what ideologies are oppressive what ideologies are free.
