France would've lost some colonies in the peace treaty, the Austro-Hungarians would've taken land in the Balkans, and the Turks would've taken the North Caucasus (and quickly lost it thereafter as their empire was falling to bits already).

2018-09-08 00:50:47 UTC

It's quite possible though that the Germans would've made the same mistake as the Entente and imposed crushing war reparations, thus fostering authoritarianism in western Europe. The US would be laughing though.

2018-09-08 00:51:01 UTC

Did anyone know that?

2018-09-08 00:51:26 UTC

That the Democrats during 2014 voted to rewrite the first amendment by repealing it?

2018-09-08 00:51:51 UTC

I sure as hell didn't know.

2018-09-08 00:52:03 UTC

It was referenced in one of the hearings this week, but it's otherwise such a laughable attempt that it doesn't merit notice.

2018-09-08 00:52:14 UTC

That article is hyperbolic.

2018-09-08 00:52:33 UTC

They wanted to repeal the campaign finance reform laws.

2018-09-08 00:53:23 UTC

Democrats are minorities in both houses and don't hold the executive. They can't pass anything, let alone a constitutional amendment.

2018-09-08 00:53:41 UTC

Even if they get their blue wave they can't do jack shit.

2018-09-08 00:53:54 UTC

It is still chilling that they are willing to go that far...

2018-09-08 00:54:06 UTC

Willing to attack the first amendment.

2018-09-08 00:54:09 UTC

You think they have scruples?

2018-09-08 00:54:30 UTC

No... the constitution hasn't been amendment in 200 years, why start now because something didn't go their way.

2018-09-08 00:55:00 UTC

It is the attempt that scares me.

2018-09-08 00:56:30 UTC

What else would they amend if it doesn't go their way?

2018-09-08 00:56:41 UTC

What else would they amend if it doesn't suit their narrative?

2018-09-08 00:57:07 UTC

To me that is a selfish party that only thought about themselves, not what the American people want.

2018-09-08 00:57:16 UTC

Only the American people should have the right to amend any amendment.

2018-09-08 00:57:26 UTC

That is what I think.

2018-09-08 00:59:27 UTC

I think some things should not be amendable whatsoever

2018-09-08 01:00:35 UTC

Depending on what standard you want to take, the last amendment was in 1992.

2018-09-08 01:00:51 UTC

Some people don't really count that though, and go with 1971.

2018-09-08 01:00:54 UTC

Added... not amended.

2018-09-08 01:01:15 UTC

We can add amendments, but rewriting is dangerous.

2018-09-08 01:02:04 UTC

Tbh the bigger issue isn't necessarily openly changing the constitution itself, it's the constant undermining

2018-09-08 01:02:11 UTC

I don't think it'll ever be amended ever again. The next change to the constitution will be it being abolished outright.

2018-09-08 01:02:16 UTC

I surely don't trust a party that only thinks about themselves, censor those who are not parroting their narrative, and constantly label people without proof.

2018-09-08 01:02:36 UTC

The political system is too diseased to gather the unity necessary to amend it.

2018-09-08 01:03:15 UTC

At least legitimately. A coup or engineered constitutional crisis is possible.

2018-09-08 01:04:22 UTC

Sure as hell feel like what the Democrats are trying now Atkins.

2018-09-08 01:04:36 UTC

The resistance in the "White House..."

2018-09-08 01:04:43 UTC

The Resistance existance.

2018-09-08 01:04:46 UTC

For that matter.

2018-09-08 01:04:49 UTC

A coup.

2018-09-08 01:05:04 UTC

Engineered Constitutional Crisis, they keep talking about constitutional crisis over and over.

2018-09-08 01:05:13 UTC

When it was fine what is happening 20 years ago.

2018-09-08 01:05:30 UTC

It is all about keeping their power which they lost last election.

2018-09-08 01:05:34 UTC

They are fighting to get it back.

2018-09-08 01:06:02 UTC

It's almost as though political parties are egocentric
