@TylerC Yes, and someone as prominent as him is in a position to get in alot of trouble.
maybe im wrong
but like i view tims understanding of race in general as just like weak, which i think he himself admits but like, nobody outside his situation really truely holds that. to me its disappointing because hes not afraid to be controversial or say uncomfortable things but on one of the biggest issues of the day its kinda stale
Subverse has some good interviews. But there's not any real "battle of the minds" kind of debates or anything.
oh well i guess
i just think at this point
I do think Tim also is one of those guys who always tries and play "center" even if it just means yielding ground.
the warriors of the culture war are getting long in the tooth
And not sticking to any consistent belief.
and everyone needs a friggin time out
Won't happen. Can't happen.
That's the point of the culture war. Fight until someone gets so exhausted they all just give up or are removed.
well like ive been fairly consistant
you arent wront there pratel
i used to be left, and now im right because ive stuck to a few core beliefs
mainly freedom of expression and speech which the right used to be opposed to but like... well present day....
Yeah, there were pretty major shifts around 2013 that have crystallized into 2018.
I don't think the shifts are appreciated yet.
My mom just texted me that she was telling her girlfriend (a survivor of the Las Vegas shooting who now owns a gun because of that) that I was telling her how I wanted a pellet gun for recreational shooting, and she said her girlfriend said she'd buy me one once I get my driver's license.
Nice.
ya i dont think i can ever remember a time where so much hubbub was going on about a friggin midterm election
since i was a child until 21
this is the first midterm i can remember where it was good vs evil
usually thats just the presidential shit
then i got a crash course into living in a city and totalitarian leftism and well
here i am now
It took me until the 2014 midterms to stop voting for the left.
im 26 now
@TylerC Were you politically involved before? 2006, and 2010 was also kinda high points.
It is considerably more polarized now and feels a bit higher stakes. But if you're new to all this it would feel much more involved than you're likely used to.
ive always been an accelerationist though, so to me, trump was my guy
i was before then too
but at least here
the midterms were usually just a shrug
@UwuesVult Similar. For me it was when I went to NY.
tyler did you listen to any of the songs off Selective Hearing
And here I voted for Trump because he wasn't a politician.
no i dont think i have hear that
i keep saying it
Well, the midterms do feel much more cataclysmic now. I will agree.
like the medias fetish for shitting on trump actually endears him to me
