I find Norse pantheon to be a better representation than some Heb telling me to turn the other cheek so some savage can kill me. (I'm bad)
yes but you do know that christianity is parts pagan
Of course it is
Has been paganized, but not pagain in itself
christianity took most of its symbols from pagan traditions
although the whole picture is distorted
even half their holidays
ALL the hilidays
ermm holidays
but of course religion cannote exist without the people, the blood
okay i was being leniant
yes all holidays..lol modem
and our blood is...
everything
pagan
I just can't accept one devine source created it all
well that is kind of a dumb idea
i've read the bible, almsot cover to cover, it carries multiple good moral points but the notion that one god created an entire universe and everything in it.... no i dont think so..
well everyone does have their story about how it all started
this is true
yes for sure
certain books of the bible resonate
My reading of the Bible is pretty much political
not all, mainly proverbs, ephesians, and job
@The Enlightened Shepherd same here
And somewhat spiritual (not that i find spiritual lessons useful, but it's a good resource to learn about a type of spirit)
I grew up in a lutheran home
So for me, Old Testament is more useful, as a political and social commentary on a particular historical moment
the bible was our bedtime story sadly
While NT not that much
I mean, book of exodus
Pure gold
that is a good one yes
That great portrayal of bitter hitorical struggle
agitation
Both those books copied from older stories
royalty and unwashed masses
politicians and merchants
I really like job though
On the other hand you have Revelations, a complete and utter diatribe
