Shadow banning was discovered because they were doing it excessively
If someone posts a video and they normally get 50k views or whatever in a day, but now they only get 1000, they're going to know that something has happened.

Well that's already an obvious attack on revenue and influence anyway
Demonetization is the default state of affairs for most political youtubers, so change in revenue wouldn't be a way to notice.

They only need it to appear subtle enough to make us look like the ones wearing the tinfoil hats. for example: they're not shadow banning all official sources say your a conspiracy theorist. your sources are fake and don't have many views.
That site that could figure out if you were Twitter shadowbanned was pretty effective

From the hearing I thought the most effective line was about the recommended twitter feeds in DC. it illustrated to a normie that the DNC member were being promoted even over commercial things like sports teams.
