At the end of the day, Data and Society just released it's enemies list. And let's face it. Tim's on it. And nothing is really going to get him removed short of becoming a full evangelical SJW. If you read between the lines, it seems Data and Society is more concerned about Social justice and Identity politics than economics or really anything else.
It's literally a heretics list.

There was an entire organization behind him.
This is not a mistake on their part. It's not a case of them being stupid or ignorant or misinformed. They know that James Damore is basically no one on youtube. They don't care. It's a scary name to lefties and they can draw lines from other names to him. That's all that matters.
And that next organization is probably going to be Data and Society.
It's also a scary name to Google.
It's just about power. Not truth, not genuinely caring about extremism.
Just power.

It's not science, it's not journalism, it's not public service. It's simply a power play and you're on their hit list for a reason.

And distancing yourself is only delaying the inevitable.
They don't care about your denials or disavowals.
There are people to distance from, but at some level, you should atleast be talking with Rogan and Rubin.
And seriously looking into options.

They've played this game at the Universities for deacades.
It works. Don't underestimate it.
You should be looking at that list and asking yourself who you're willing to work with and how you can collaborate MORE not less.
And don't play into their hands.
I'm not sure video collaborations really help.
But looking into legal options (a la Prager), and trying to push people to start really fighting back would be a good step.
