Comic series like marvel just confuse me, especially when they tie in together

the reason I liked the johns run is simple

he had a story in mind already

what he wanted to do over about 10 years was

Resurrect the at the time partially ghostly hal jordan
bring back the mostly dead lantern corps
REfurbish some backstories
Introduce the rainbow of lantern colours
Do the blackest night prophecy arc
And then break the status quo again and get rid of the guardians of the universe
