slot machines are basically cons now
i mean, children frequently are the target audiences of T and sometimes M rated games
sometimes? you mean most of hte time?
No way, they are an offer. Take it or leave it
No, they're explicitly regulated to be not a con
ah
they are chance games.
They have to pay out X % of the time minimum
you looked at the way modern day ones work?
they have moving goal posts
I mean if slot machines were good they wouldn't make the owner money
Truly, I think gambling is fine and I would allow my 9 yr old to do it, being monitored like all event ofc
Yeah true
you need to teach kids how to gamble, like how to drink
Yep
If my kid was good at blackjack I'd encourage them to keep doing it
its not really a hard principle, go it with x amount of money, expect to lose it all
ya know a good way to teach kids about gambling? Let them use their own money.
blackjack is closer to a game of skill than chance
Teach the kids how to be adults, so we have less post teens around.
you can play blackjack and always beat the house
but they don't like card counting
not illegal, but they will kick you out
My kid can do what ever with his money, I will just make him feel bad if he looses it. Lessons and such
hey, he can buy candy or he can gamble
Same if he wins, talk about luck and how he had it and might not again, spend it wisely. Lessons and such
Yeah I regret saying kids gambling is bad, they should be mocked if they spend their allowance on a slot machine and then want more money
they shouldn't get dinner that night to really teach a lesson
Yep, like how I mocked my son for wanting “a hat in time” the game..
I've heard that game is decent tbh
Me to but I’m pushing for more online play (he needs to socialize more)
so you mean 90% of all games these days?
real hard push
AAA games that is
Sports? Online socialization doesn't do as much iirc
Na, that’s a myth. I hear him playing with his friends from school. He has gotten much better at communication over the last few months.
Good step, if he's really that isolated.
But still, the in-person stuff will be a major step forward I think.
if you live in a major city, there may be meetups and such for whatever hobbies he has.
And if you ever been in a good guild with many friends, that can be a small community. I want him to try and build that with friends at school so they can make RL plans. Sons kinda nerdy but super smart. But yeah, 100% he playing football next year.
