Or "1984'd"
WeW
do u agree
...
1984'd could mean anything.
And it's less funny.
Thanos is funny because he's a big purple scary monster man.
WD40'd
Thanos is also utterly insane
THANOSCOPTER
Okay but like
there have been "this is for the good of the world, only I can take the dark path to utopia" villains before
Thanos in the MCU has to be one of the best portrayed
They totally repurposed him into a bullshit motive.
They needed "Half the universe dead" and had to think up a new reason.
One that makes no sense in reality.
But it couldn't be "Trying to get Death to coo and blush" anymore
Raving mad "in love with death itself, who manipulated him into becoming a mass killer yet won't share his affections" Thanos would be more realistic, then?
The only space godâ„¢ we've seen is Dormammu
and GotG2 hints at Eternity
Ever since the end of Avengers 1, everyone who saw Thanos knew this was coming.
the only god is the god emperor! Heretic
there's also a mural of some of the cosmic entities in the tomb of the power stone in GOTG1
You mean the man-emperor of mankind!
"Oh they're going to do it. They're going to Infinity Gauntlet half the universe away."
"--So are they gonna have him trying to woo Death or what? That'd be kinda stupid in a movie"
Marvel agreed.
Thankfully it turned out okay.
Exactly
while there's a badass absoluteness to original thanos
eh i didn't think it made a lot of sense, but w/e
that's the point, paradox
This isn't even Infinity Gauntlet yet.
his plan *doesn't* make sense
but he believes it does
This was Thanos Quest.
The big Thanos stories are Thanos Quest, Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity War (COMPLETELY unrelated to the movie we've seen)
I mean, it makes him look stupid not crazy.
