Well, I think JBP's remark on the Kavanaugh matter has more to it than "the allegations should affect him"
I think JBP is speaking particularly to the fact that Judge Kavanaugh's particular flavour of defense, no matter how understandable in the context, raises questions about his ability to at least put on the face of an impartial justice.
I think JBP was just being a radical centrist there.
Radical Centrism has NO WEAKNESS
Anything it debates WILL LOSE
BIG BRAIN
Judge Kavanaugh's mention of particular parties as being categorically hostile to him, however warranted, shows that he has baggage.
I took the JBP comment as saying Kavanaugh should make his resignation a public statement. Kind of like "A pox on both your houses. I quit."
I did not take it that way.
What gave you that impression?
Which is still dumb, but makes sense if JBP is trying to take some high principled stance.
(other than the fact that the statement, at face value, does not square with what he usually says)
I'm gonna call the vote 51-49
right down party lines with 1 or 2 outsiders
Daines is absent.
And Murkowski said she's voting 'present'.
i'm gonna call it 51-48-1
With that one vote suggesting Styxhexenhammer as Supreme court judge
IF she does what she says, and IF Flake doesn't Flake, it'll be 50-48-1
Pence only gets a vote if it's a tie.
hmm
Why are they always bringing up Trump
That's their platform.
"lolol doesn't belong on the bench because chosen by the president" — Chuk Shoomur
"far-right organizations"
i.e., the republican party
i.e., half the country
> ignominiously
So after the votes are cast, somebody needs to give me a quick rundown on the Kavanaugh "don't investigate the president" rhetoric
Isn't it incredible.
That Lincoln got more votes out of the democrats for getting rid of slavery.
???
Don't act confused.
Don't argue.
I think everyone in my dorm is also watching this at the same time
Just say "Yes"
so from what schumer is saying the democrats are painting themselves into a corner.
Ugh... the SCOTUS is not there to protect anyone. It's there to uphold the US Constitution.
because this is nearly unwatchable
they now have to impeach kavanaugh (assuming he's confirmed)
