Reservations only exist to protect natives from being overwhelmed by settlers back then.
Why not?
Exactly.
I honestly have no idea, I just feel like it’s a dirty move
Still applies today, what would happen if business decide to snatch up land.
Using illegal means to prey on the natives?
Nobody would live there.
So it wouldn't matter.
They would loose land that been in their family.
I mean it makes logical sense.
They would also loose any sacred grounds that they protected.
?
I just feel like the idea behind reservations is to make sure the natives arent destroyed
Just make it a reserveation like a goverment park.
It is.
So why get rid of them
That just seems shifty to me
But the government barely helps the Natives.
They wouldn't be destroyed they would be absorbed into society.
So the next gen of natives could have a better life and be more helpfull to the state as a whole.
No, I'm black but I identify as white. I don't reject my roots but I can't find myself to relate to others of my race. Mainly because I see myself as American first and foremost.
Basically what the government done was place them in a bubble and left them to their own devices.
That's good.
They can leave reservations, but it is hard for them to integrate.
Sad stuff.
That's how I feel, my duty as an American ahead of any cultural ties I might have.
I actually had a question
They are also plagued with drug problems.
And crimes.
See.
Yes
They are already being taken advantage of.
There needs to be more done to help the natives.
They would have a better life in American society.
This would help the natives.
I only talk about this because I have native blood, I don't know what it is like living on reservations, but I know the issues.
Do natives in reservations pay taxes?
If there was any way that the native population could be boosted, how do you think most natives would react?
That I am not sure, I will ask my grandma when I get the chance.
Why would we want to boost the native population.
Because it’s smol
