I see no reason to keep throwing $ to defend an alliance, only to have Germany/Merkel deal w/Russia directly for resources instead of us and undermining us. If the original intention of NATO was a strategic alliance to hold back communism/USSR and 1 member state (more than 1 really) is consorting w/the enemy.
