Our monitors increase alpha brainwaves, a brain state associated with closed eyes

2020-04-03 02:01:05 UTC

Eyes wide shut, so to speak

2020-04-03 02:02:04 UTC

Governmentally speaking, I mean. The chinese must be starving for such fine levels of management potential.

2020-04-03 02:03:52 UTC

I can definitely see how technology has sort of happened like that, but then I think that's more a consequence of people believing technology solves problems. Problems always exist, you must simply pick and choose which problems you have- technology is a tradeoff.

Interview starts about 10 minutes in. A fairly accurate overview of what the current geopolitical situation looks like.

2020-04-03 02:10:12 UTC

Strategic inertia is the best way I've heard that described

2020-04-03 02:14:29 UTC

Does Xi Jinping thought even have enough material to train a model on?

2020-04-03 02:17:04 UTC

I'm guessing they profile internet traffic and then set a target for what they want to match it too

2020-04-03 02:18:37 UTC

If it were me working with this, I'd integrate it such that it acts like twitter/google's "right bad" but with the Chinese set of programs

2020-04-03 02:26:15 UTC

The point is that the potential for this technology to control our thoughts exists and we need to be eternally vigilant

2020-04-03 02:26:20 UTC

That is the price of freedom

2020-04-03 02:26:59 UTC

It can't control your thoughts, but it can be as good as the best human persuader

2020-04-03 02:28:19 UTC

If it can persuade the majority of people it may as well be mind control

2020-04-03 02:28:58 UTC

Then perhaps mind control is not such a bad thing, because most will find it acceptable in practice

2020-04-03 02:29:45 UTC

Those who do not will take measures to nullify it

2020-04-03 02:30:13 UTC

Also look into Dark Patterns for more on those systems and methods

2020-04-03 02:30:38 UTC

If every knee does not bow, it is quite literally the system of the Antichrist from a biblical perspective

2020-04-03 02:31:11 UTC

If that's predestined to happen anyways then there's no problem with it

2020-04-03 02:33:15 UTC

No action could possibly counter the plan of God, and as such, there is no reason to concern yourself with that plan beyond aspects wherein you have control over it.

2020-04-03 02:33:35 UTC

I suppose, but at the same time we shouldn't say something is good because the majority are able to be persuaded by it. Even if it is an inevitability it's a choice to go along with it

2020-04-03 02:35:59 UTC

So carry on being mindful that all information comes from a direction which imbues it with spin, and research and help inform where you can,

These can't be made by the average AI because they're not patterned enough

2020-04-03 02:39:19 UTC

Thank you

2020-04-03 02:39:27 UTC

@Jym
very cool watch

@Hexidecimark

I got his third book last week. Reading it over my lunch break right now. My at home read is Kotkin's biography of Stalin.

2020-04-03 02:41:06 UTC

I think there are definitely moves that could shake that image up, but the image itself is based in very solid predictions and considerations

2020-04-03 02:42:38 UTC

Yeah I am kinda an oddball. Most of my YT subs are think tanks and such. I sort of slipped into Sargon's sphere because I am an avid gamer and was involved with GG back in '14.

2020-04-03 02:46:34 UTC

qabalah reminds me quite a bit of artificial neural networks fwiw

2020-04-03 02:48:43 UTC

As a categorization & classification system itself, it's not actually that far off, I suppose

2020-04-03 02:50:21 UTC

I'm vaguely familiar but I need to brush up on my python

2020-04-03 02:50:46 UTC

Don't need any experience here, it's all visual

2020-04-03 02:51:41 UTC

Oh

2020-04-03 02:51:48 UTC

I'll take a look

2020-04-03 02:51:51 UTC

Industry standard for activation is RELU, and try out the spiral

2020-04-03 02:53:11 UTC

Each graph can represent anything, really, from points on your face to crime data, and they show how an AI classifies information, it's super cool

This is the other major AI type, the Bayesian network, also in a fun, interactive model

This one you can build yourself during quarantine as the math is pretty doable
