if a market isnt regulated I cant see how it can be free... unless no-one even tries to compete

2020-03-06 11:35:43 UTC

the second you come to the first business theyre going to say "dont go to that guy, he sucks"

2020-03-06 11:35:44 UTC

so for a markets to be truly free you need to impose regulations on it

2020-03-06 11:35:51 UTC

Sorry wacka, I'm not one to fire dictionary definitions at people, but a free market is a market where the prices of goods and services are determined by the demand of the consumer with little or no regulatory control.

whats with the ARE in capitals

2020-03-06 11:37:09 UTC

workin wahmen

2020-03-06 11:37:28 UTC

If a free market is regulated it ain't a free market.

2020-03-06 11:37:59 UTC

Thank you, finally we can stop worrying about monopolies in a free markets

2020-03-06 11:38:08 UTC

Thats why America ain't a free market and that Scandinavia is a Freer market.

2020-03-06 11:38:32 UTC

My whole argument rests on the need for the bare minimum of regulation to ensure consumers are not exploited and the solutions to the markets demands are fit for purpose and safe. This obviously requires a regulatory body and this in my opinion should be controlled by a Democratic framework nested inside that of a democratic governmental structure.

2020-03-06 11:38:57 UTC

Molopolies only exist because of Lobbying to create a less competitive market.

2020-03-06 11:39:06 UTC

If you cant get your product to the market its not free

2020-03-06 11:39:36 UTC

The Molopolies are there because of the government regulations.

2020-03-06 11:39:39 UTC

if customers cant even see your product, its not a free market

2020-03-06 11:39:43 UTC

if you can't get your products to the market maybe your product is really shit

2020-03-06 11:39:48 UTC

and nobody wants it

2020-03-06 11:39:55 UTC

monpolies exist because of a lack of regulation

2020-03-06 11:40:04 UTC

How do you know if its never presented to the consumer?

2020-03-06 11:40:19 UTC

consumers are the markets

2020-03-06 11:40:30 UTC

no consumers go to the markets

2020-03-06 11:40:31 UTC

whats stopping you from approaching them

2020-03-06 11:40:33 UTC

which markets

2020-03-06 11:40:36 UTC

its not a location

2020-03-06 11:40:39 UTC

geez

2020-03-06 11:40:45 UTC

where do you think they gio

2020-03-06 11:40:47 UTC

fucking Asda?

2020-03-06 11:40:59 UTC

its an ability to reach the product in the same way as competing prodducts

2020-03-06 11:41:09 UTC

hense the browser choice system

2020-03-06 11:41:17 UTC

Yes so tell me a scenario where its limiting you from reaching those markets

2020-03-06 11:41:22 UTC

The regulation of a free market isnt an on/off, yes /no question. It's one of degrees.

2020-03-06 11:41:45 UTC

just like free speech then

2020-03-06 11:42:11 UTC

Broadly speaking yes.

2020-03-06 11:42:19 UTC

what about in degrees

2020-03-06 11:43:18 UTC

An unsafe product would be analogous to a persons speech preventing another person from from exercising their free speech.

2020-03-06 11:43:43 UTC

this assuming in a case where there's regulations and protections in place

2020-03-06 11:44:05 UTC

because an unsafe product would be deemed unsafe for failing particular standards

2020-03-06 11:44:14 UTC

enforced by external agencies

2020-03-06 11:44:35 UTC

@system11 That's untrue you need to look how law makers and regulators work with establishment business work hand in hand.

2020-03-06 11:45:06 UTC

Yes but the agency would have oversight from government, and government is elected by the people, who broadly speaking are the market.

2020-03-06 11:45:20 UTC

same in the case for someones speech too
