And each time theyve told me that if i didnt march i would be punished

2020-03-09 12:00:06 UTC

Usually its brief social ostracisation

2020-03-09 12:00:07 UTC

Yes but you're not going to criticise the theory of relativity without first reading it are you? @Slen

2020-03-09 12:00:10 UTC

One time

2020-03-09 12:00:27 UTC

This actually happened to my grandad but we work in the same places usually

2020-03-09 12:00:34 UTC

I have read the communist manifesto. That is what I am criticising.

2020-03-09 12:00:39 UTC

I don’t see your point.

2020-03-09 12:00:47 UTC

A bunch of union boys bailed him up and gave him a beating for not marching

2020-03-09 12:01:03 UTC

Well they didnt exactly succeed in the beating and were rather beaten but you get the point

2020-03-09 12:01:14 UTC

Perhaps Das Kapital has some good points. A shame they didn’t make it in the final cut of communism.

2020-03-09 12:01:19 UTC

Unions, much like communists are authoritarian asses

2020-03-09 12:01:30 UTC

so let me talk about the principle here which is what matters, when unions go on strike, its a last resort when talks have failed with the boards or whatever authority is there. They put their wages on the line to demand better conditions. Do you believe that is a valid case for getting better treatment and better wages?

2020-03-09 12:02:00 UTC

Sure, but unions in their current state are doing it wring

2020-03-09 12:02:18 UTC

Would you say the government has also failed to do a lot of things right?

2020-03-09 12:02:18 UTC

Communism argues that its implementation would increase the welfare of the lower class citizens

2020-03-09 12:02:28 UTC

It also fails to do that

2020-03-09 12:02:39 UTC

At least in the capitalist system

2020-03-09 12:02:46 UTC

Would you say the government has also failed to do a lot of things right?

2020-03-09 12:02:49 UTC

Its possible to argue for higher wages

2020-03-09 12:02:51 UTC

Yeah the Soviet Union was great. They paid a living wage in the gulags don’t you know.

2020-03-09 12:03:54 UTC

Sure but just because the government fails to deliver on “some things” doesnt invalidate capitalism, unions and communism fail to deliver the whole point of having communism or a union

2020-03-09 12:04:12 UTC

Again when i speak of unions i mean unions in their current state

2020-03-09 12:04:32 UTC

So will you apply the same thought process to unions?

2020-03-09 12:04:46 UTC

Which thought process sorry?

2020-03-09 12:05:17 UTC

that the government fails to deliver on some things

2020-03-09 12:05:43 UTC

Read what i said

2020-03-09 12:06:02 UTC

Capitalism fails in some respects, yes, its not perfect, you cant have perfect

2020-03-09 12:06:07 UTC

But it doesnt

2020-03-09 12:06:14 UTC

Fail in ALL respects

2020-03-09 12:06:24 UTC

But you believe communism has to be perfect

2020-03-09 12:06:31 UTC

No

2020-03-09 12:06:41 UTC

Stop putting words in my mouth

2020-03-09 12:06:52 UTC

Our standard of not causing massive catastrophe is not us asking for perfection.

2020-03-09 12:06:56 UTC

when did capitalism first start?

2020-03-09 12:07:01 UTC

Communism doesnt have to be perfect, but it has to function

2020-03-09 12:07:06 UTC

Consistently

2020-03-09 12:07:21 UTC

And without causing major humanitarian disasters

2020-03-09 12:07:49 UTC

If a capitalist economy crashes i can still work enough to feed myseld

2020-03-09 12:07:59 UTC

do you believe capitalism hasn't caused major humanitarian disasters?

2020-03-09 12:08:09 UTC

Not on the same scale as communism

2020-03-09 12:08:14 UTC

What scale is that
