Well the Nationalist claim is quite the opposite, the State might say that an Algerian is now French because he's a French Citizen, but just getting citizenship papers by a government doesn't make anyone French.
A French child born in China or Japan is still French regardless of whether a govt recognizes it.

I said that pretty much everyone I met just acted in their own way. Not fitting in, and having their own quirks and habits.

I should say it was a wierd situation
