I would say gang culture because for some where it is down to parenting, they either want to copy a criminal lifestyle of a parent or through lack of it, they join gangs as a place to feel included and valued

We had a case here a few years ago where someone was jailed for the rape and murder of a minor. His brother felt lost so robbed a store and got sent to a less secure facility. Angry at that, when he got released, commited same crime his brother did just so they could be together
