hi there im here because something really weird happened, im currently a sophomore attending high school and our school makes all students take either the psat or the sat every year. on my psat test, 2 articles we had to read had to do with feminism, and both of them were from women of color that were claiming things such as that feminism only helps white women and how women of color arent really included

this has never happened on a huge regulated test like this and it baffled me

this is the first year ive ever seen it and it just annoyed me reading it because in the second article, the person that was speaking on the issue claimed that women of color should be centered, rather than included, but the original point of feminism was that reguardless of your skin color, you are a woman and you should get equal rights, why is it that she wanted one skin color of women to be primarilly showed rather than any other

Short answer: Inter-sectionality is progressing as it should. The most marginalized group are being pushed to the forefront and people are being told to champion them. The people who think this way are involved with many insitutions at the lower and mid levels. They choose for example, what articles you read during your tests. The fact that it showed up is proof that these people have wormed their way into the inner workings of the organization which provides the exam.
