If this doesnt sound like feminism thats because its nothing like feminism. Its an attempt to coopt the movement into part of a larger activist network. They feel that black women who helped feminism are owed something by their fellow activists and they are trying to make them return the favor . In the article you described them as wanting to focus on black women, once this happens they will turn the focus of the movement to issues which have nothing to do with feminism. In doing so, they hope to pull all feminists into issues involving the black community.

Relation has no bearing in their minds. They feel they are owed something and they will do their damndest to collect it. When they are unable to they will try to extort the help of their fellow activists through any of their means. They will do everything up to a hostile take over of the movement to bend it to their will. In doing so they destroy the movement and most support for it. This is of no consequence in their minds because the movement wasnt helping them and by not helping they were preserving the status quo which is effectively harming marginalized groups.
