A company called haptics and a few clever bastards in the VRChat community have already done something like this, as their haptics dedicate part of the visual to a grid map of sensors.
I remember seeing this vr thing that let you move via walking on this track thing but you don't actually transport yourself
walking in place irl but walking to places in vr
dunno what it's called
used some kind of shoes
I dislike VR trackpads, they are too clumsy and incredibly expensive.
I just wanna rape people in vr ffs
instead, I'm hoping with the push for BCI controllers that we can just move using our heads.
Like, "I want to go here." so, you walk there.
We can already use telekinesis in VR using our own brains
You should look into a company called Looxid, they're working on adaptable brain interfacing for modern VR headsets.
At a reasonable price too, I think like $400
It's my understanding that it uses sensors to read the frontal lobe to execute certain actions.

You know what's funny.
Cyberpunk 2020 goes DIRECTLY against what Facebook's ideals are for modern technology.
The universe was super interconnected, like to the point of EVERYTHING being wireless and to the internet and it eventually caused a singularity. After some bad shit went down (I wont say as it might be a 2077 plot point) The entire internet had to be segregated due to the huge amount of security breaches, malware and rogue AI.
So, everything turned into LANs.
That's why you can't hack a building from across the street in 2077, you need direct access to the LAN.
@Steyr "Thick" Shotgun hardware specialist how much does a 32 bit multiply cost in terms of joules?
& how much for 32 bits SRAM read?
