The political process does not start and end at the ballot box and a right with flexible limitations quickly becomes no right at all. Through the same means, Americans are losing many of their rights. And it doesn't mean whether it is free speech or the right to be secure in your home - our rights are under systematic attack, and about half of the population is either in a stupor or actively participating in this, for the sake of "safety".

2018-11-03 04:45:15 UTC

also witcher will cast mostly black

2018-11-03 04:45:22 UTC

there needs to be repurcussions for that shit

2018-11-03 04:45:52 UTC

Growing up, I learned about WW2 a lot. I wondered, ever since I have been a child, what can make people do such heinous, stupid things.

It's very simple: Tell them what they are doing is good.

The casting for the Witcher netflix show is already out. Not hard to find images with all the cast

2018-11-03 04:45:57 UTC

fun fact: both words xenophobia and racism was invented by jew.
*the more you know*

2018-11-03 04:46:25 UTC

Thank you Jews. Those are useful terms.

2018-11-03 04:47:34 UTC

I'll have to look more into the whole Jew thing, but what has kept me kind of away from it is similar to what has kept me away from the vaccine/autism thing:

Some claims are just so transparently stupid that I didn't want to waste time on it anymore.

2018-11-03 04:48:00 UTC

^you gotta try though

2018-11-03 04:48:15 UTC

otherwise you got people saying they got no time explaining why trump is a nazi...

2018-11-03 04:48:49 UTC

It's in many ways a very tightknit group. That's going to lead to some nepotism whether intentional or not, but doesn't mean that that they're conspiring as a whole.

2018-11-03 04:48:51 UTC

Well, I have been able to verify some claims that were interesting to me, but not that unexpected, such as there having been a lot of anti-German propaganda that turned out to be bogus, such as the lamp shades made of human skin (which later turned out to be goat or pig skin).

2018-11-03 04:49:30 UTC

Also, the British weren't exactly lawful in their treatment of their POWs, either. There was a lot of fucked up stuff, on many sides, and we are too one sided in assigning blame.

2018-11-03 04:49:41 UTC

just cause you're paranoid, doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you

2018-11-03 04:49:53 UTC

But the constant yelling of "Jews! Jews did it!" isn't helping.

2018-11-03 04:50:25 UTC

Also as a result of being such a tightknit group they've tended to self-segregate throughout history which has of course led to more discrimination against them, which gives them more fear of integrating with others, and it's something of a self-feeding cycle.

2018-11-03 04:50:51 UTC

Yes, that might be one of the most sensible interpretations.

2018-11-03 04:51:12 UTC

Not to say that the discrimination is justified, but it hasn't *just* come from nowhere

2018-11-03 04:51:59 UTC

So, let's say that really was the case, which it might be. Then what should we do about it?

Let's stop all the talk and pass some laws against nepotism and cronyism in companies. You have to have some hiring process in publicly traded companies, for example, where you don't just hire your cousins all the time.

2018-11-03 04:52:45 UTC

government should stay out of business as much as possible

2018-11-03 04:52:47 UTC

yeah they were expelled "only" at least 359 times...
at what point its their faultšŸ¤”

By the way, it's not the only ingroup preference I have seen. I have worked in a large company before and it was a very international crowd. We didn't have many Russians in our company, but the few we did have were all concentrated in one team, without any other apparent reason, such as that team recruiting in a certain location/event.

2018-11-03 04:53:17 UTC

Then there's also the way that they were exempt from Christian usury laws of the past. They were the ones who were allowed to handle large amounts of money which meant they were the ones who controlled the banks a long long time ago. And that led to a very wealthy and powerful minority. And money of that magnitude tends to stay in the family.

2018-11-03 04:53:22 UTC

Or, I have had a team in which people just suddenly start talking Hindi at lunch, which is incredibly disrespectful, I think.

2018-11-03 04:53:45 UTC

English isn't my first language, by the way, and I would never just switch into my native language if there were people at the table who were unable to speak it. That is just incredibly rude.

2018-11-03 04:54:53 UTC

It's not always going to be as simple as "You are the same race as me therefor I give you preferential treatment", but often more like "Oh hey you're in this very small group I am too! How cool is that that you've had some similar experiences as a result of it" which is going to lead to an easier time becoming friendly, which will make you view them in a better light and more likely to hire them.

2018-11-03 04:55:11 UTC

I think, at this point, we can confidently say that there is a staggering amount of nepotism in media and many tech companies, which is also why I am strongly, strongly in favor of more meritocratic hiring.

2018-11-03 04:55:34 UTC

Like if you were traveling through China and met another American at a bar you'd probably hit it off talking about what you miss about home.

2018-11-03 04:55:44 UTC

Yes, it can just be the university they graduated from.

2018-11-03 04:56:20 UTC

I have seen that in interviews. Two dudes were basically just bantering with each other, not because of their gender, but ebcause they were from the same univeristy, and he would get hired, even though he completely fucked up the coding question.

2018-11-03 04:56:29 UTC

I loathe that with a passion.

2018-11-03 04:56:33 UTC

I fucking hate nepotism.

2018-11-03 04:56:39 UTC

Yeah, it sucks.

2018-11-03 04:57:18 UTC

there are ways to sanitize the hiring process

2018-11-03 04:57:18 UTC

But, companies should reap what they sow. If they want to hire the dude that went to their university, instead of the more qualified Asian guy, then let me hire him.

2018-11-03 04:57:24 UTC

I hope your fucking company dies.
