But i think men leaving the workforce could also possibly be because whats the point of working you ass off when there is nothing for you at home

2018-11-08 03:49:49 UTC

well, thankfully, i feel like what i do at work matters

2018-11-08 03:50:02 UTC

so it doesn't matter that i go home and feel lonely

2018-11-08 03:50:26 UTC

my 3 rescue doggies disgree with that at least. Always feels good to return home to that

2018-11-08 03:50:32 UTC

lol

2018-11-08 03:50:38 UTC

I mean i dont have it, but i like the job im doing right now.
But i can certainly imagine that working shit jobs + not having anything to work for, is not exactly gonna encourage men to do any more then bare minimum

2018-11-08 03:50:46 UTC

hence part time jobs just to support themselves

2018-11-08 03:50:49 UTC

yeah

2018-11-08 03:51:20 UTC

It certainly didnt encourage me at all back in those days

2018-11-08 03:51:23 UTC

i was done with it

2018-11-08 03:53:26 UTC

You gotta understand, these worthless insecure jobs that just keep on being tossed your way for years, put your entire life on hold.
You dont get any value of them other then that you can say u worked at place X Y Z, and you gotta explain in every interview for your next shit job, why that didnt work out.
In the meantime, you cant take out loans, you cant buy a house, you can barely rent a place (because insecure income), your whole life is put at pause by these kinds of "flexible" jobs

2018-11-08 03:54:45 UTC

Solution for me was to say fuck it, stopped working and decided to be a dick and get welfare in order to get my electrical engineer degree.
took me a few very hard years of below min standard living to get me where i am today

2018-11-08 03:54:46 UTC

I spent 15 years in the military, 4 years in Iraq, bronze star, jmsm, and can’t find a job anywhere

2018-11-08 03:55:50 UTC

did you eat ramen?

2018-11-08 03:55:54 UTC

@tritrium oh I've been there. Worked in factories for a while but the fact is that most of them now are all classified as temporary jobs and are owned by venture capitalist firms that are barely more then vultures waiting to pick the corpse of the place clean

2018-11-08 03:56:25 UTC

That sucks fireonmountain

2018-11-08 03:56:33 UTC

it's so weird how in situations like that, what's meant to be a financial safety net is the only way to succeed.

2018-11-08 03:56:49 UTC

Yea its a calculation

2018-11-08 03:56:55 UTC

But i wouldnt advise anyone doing it

2018-11-08 03:57:10 UTC

It literally means eating max twice a day and preferably not every day

2018-11-08 03:57:14 UTC

specially in winter

2018-11-08 03:57:19 UTC

o

2018-11-08 03:57:22 UTC

you can choose

2018-11-08 03:57:28 UTC

Either face the cold or eat twice

2018-11-08 03:57:36 UTC

well i stress eat so i would be really bad at being poor 😂

2018-11-08 03:57:48 UTC

I went the work 80+ hours route....

2018-11-08 03:57:50 UTC

I learned very well how to do with very little

2018-11-08 03:58:03 UTC

it actually was valuable to me in the long run

2018-11-08 03:58:03 UTC

I do not advise that btw

2018-11-08 03:58:09 UTC

Yeah, I was a lifer, never planned on getting out, I forage, hunt for extra food, eat a lot of oats, beans

2018-11-08 03:58:09 UTC

as i can easily save money these days

2018-11-08 03:58:23 UTC

Yea 80 hours is ridiculous

2018-11-08 03:58:47 UTC
