Opera usually takes like 3-4 hours and you can't just listen to it for 10 minutes if you want to appreciate it. It's like a play, and since I don't understand italian, french or any of those weird opera languages, I can't fully appreciate the play-part, outside of the overall emotion/theme

Yeah the opera singing takes some getting used to. But it's pretty damn impressive in how the dialogue is sung in - compared to modern singing - very complex ways/ like an instrument, and live and while acting out a scene. Just overall pretty damn impressive
