As for IFAK. I say keep it basic. You or the guy working on you doesnt need to dig for contents.

2020-03-03 06:21:24 UTC

One more question. Can I use destilled water and salt to make an IV?

2020-03-03 06:21:36 UTC

Also have it Rip away and lanyard to your kit

2020-03-03 06:21:40 UTC

@MetalViking fuck no

2020-03-03 06:22:26 UTC

My Ifak is pretty well organized. Gauze and tape one side, quick clot, tape on the other, tools in between

2020-03-03 06:22:39 UTC

Tools?

2020-03-03 06:22:45 UTC

Tourniquets and shears are on outside

2020-03-03 06:23:04 UTC

Multitool, tweezers extra shears

2020-03-03 06:23:07 UTC

Wanna gib me a good ifak list? That'd be dope.

2020-03-03 06:23:10 UTC

Are they loosely tucked on the outside or kept on with something

2020-03-03 06:23:16 UTC

2020-03-03 06:23:18 UTC

2020-03-03 06:25:20 UTC

Comparison

2020-03-03 06:27:51 UTC

Not a fan of RATs but I feel that their more effective than CATs

2020-03-03 06:29:22 UTC

List:
IFAK pouch, rip away
or
IFAK pouch with contents in bag

Have either lanyard to source of the kit

2 CAT or similar windless tourniquets
1 israeli or similar pressure bandage with affixed trauma sponge
1 roller or z fold gauze. Celox gauze preferably
1 2" cloth athletic medical tape
1 nasal airway
2 chest seals or 2 piece of cut MRE wrapper with tape nearby
1 decompression needle if available
1 EMT shear, disposable

If anything is on the outside of your kit, it needs to be held on with something. Shears especially. Use a rubber band if you have to.

@MetalViking I like cats, up to you on what you'll save your own butt with

2020-03-03 06:30:36 UTC

Keep your bandaids and motrin in a seperate pouch

2020-03-03 06:31:20 UTC

Band-Aids are in my lvl 1 kit

2020-03-03 06:31:36 UTC

No idea what that is

2020-03-03 06:31:37 UTC

Motrin, I have like 4 bottles of

2020-03-03 06:31:59 UTC

I have 3 tiers of medical

2020-03-03 06:32:38 UTC

Why not just emergency and nonemergency?

2020-03-03 06:32:50 UTC

Lvl 1 is for baby boo-boos. Lvl 3 is like gunshots, 3degree burns etc

2020-03-03 06:33:00 UTC

Because I have loads of medical

2020-03-03 06:33:12 UTC

Looooaaaaads

2020-03-03 06:33:15 UTC

Are you a medic?

2020-03-03 06:33:43 UTC

Cause I'd keep most of that in a seperate kit if not

2020-03-03 06:33:50 UTC

Like a box

2020-03-03 06:33:50 UTC

Nope, I wanna make sure all avenues are covered with a good surplus

2020-03-03 06:33:57 UTC

I do

2020-03-03 06:34:08 UTC

Were talking about ifak up there

2020-03-03 06:34:22 UTC

1 &2 are in bags, ifak is lvl3

2020-03-03 06:34:35 UTC

Aight den

2020-03-03 06:35:51 UTC

Because we're dealing with experienced enemies and not green horns, medical will be extremely valued

2020-03-03 06:36:36 UTC

I'm not disagreeing

2020-03-03 06:37:45 UTC

I'd consider maybe like.... 1 bottle of motrin and some tylenol...benadryl....a decongestant... an epi pen. Keep it consolidated. Simple.
