demolitions of buildings don't start with damaging a high up floor

they do the base, and certain structural floors all at the same time

that way it falls onto its footprint

not damaging surrounding structures

the twin towers fell straight down

I thought the towers were built as shell frames and not a spine frame, where instead of a pillar in the center that held the weight it was instead spread out along the outside. making for a stronger frame and also one that would have tipped over naturally
