@Bard Thanks fam, appreciate the feedback. I'm 100% brand new to the reloading subject and this was what a guy at work had suggested to me. Currently I'm deciding how I want to prioritize my preparing efforts.

Personally I don't do reloading but this is my roommate's setup. He does precision loads for 300WM

That's pretty neat, I'm going to consider that setup if/when I get ready to buy.

If you have time on your hands and want to make a load with a badass kill shit bullet that functions flawlessly in your rifle, it's hard to beat single stage

2020-03-18 18:19:21 UTC

It's just slow

2020-03-18 18:19:48 UTC

But on the plus side you can make your ammo gucci as fuck with not a shitton of money invested

2020-03-18 18:19:54 UTC

I don't mind slow, I have plenty of mootherfooking time.

2020-03-18 18:20:02 UTC

Then there you go man

2020-03-18 18:20:20 UTC

Plus I'm looking to do higher weight bullets for my ar than 55 and 62 so it probably works out.

2020-03-18 18:43:41 UTC

73gr ELD's are pretty excellent

2020-03-18 18:43:53 UTC

Good BC and terminal performance

2020-03-18 18:44:20 UTC

I'm looking for best performance out of a 20" 1:7 barrel in 556

2020-03-18 18:46:27 UTC

For 1:7 you will definitely want heavier bullets

2020-03-18 18:46:46 UTC

69, 73, 75, 77 etc.

2020-03-18 18:47:08 UTC

That's what I've been reading online fo sure.

2020-03-18 18:47:26 UTC

On the plus side if we get this $1,000/mo relief check I can get me a nice trijicon.

2020-03-18 18:47:46 UTC

Same bruh, finna cop some gucci gear

2020-03-18 18:47:47 UTC

Right now I'm rockin' irons so it's not like I'm going to be pinpoint at 500 yards anyway.

2020-03-18 18:48:24 UTC

The best combat ammo for an AR is Black Hills 77gr TMK

2020-03-18 18:48:42 UTC

It is accurate, it is extremely dependable and it works

2020-03-18 18:49:00 UTC

One can make that ammo on their own if you have a decent press

2020-03-18 18:49:26 UTC

I'm very much interested in that.

2020-03-18 18:49:51 UTC

As a total fucking noob to the subject could you point me to what primers/powder and bullets to actually purchase for that kinda thing?

2020-03-18 18:50:13 UTC

I guess there's books n' shit but I don't know what brand is better than this or that.

2020-03-18 18:50:19 UTC

Hornady and Sierra make the best bullets

2020-03-18 18:50:33 UTC

Lapua and a few others make the best brass

2020-03-18 18:50:46 UTC

Powder, primers, idk

2020-03-18 18:50:51 UTC

Use the internet

2020-03-18 18:50:54 UTC

Research

2020-03-18 18:51:07 UTC

Workin' on it boiiii

2020-03-18 18:51:21 UTC

Thanks for the info though, I didn't know that ammo existed.

2020-03-18 18:51:35 UTC

I've got that PMC 55g shit right now which works well enough.

2020-03-18 18:51:42 UTC

If you buy it factory it's a dollar a round

2020-03-18 18:51:50 UTC

A lot cheaper to make on your own

2020-03-18 18:51:59 UTC

That'd be the route I'd go then

Yo bois was looking to buy a new rifle, what do you guys think would be the best for the boog, or home defense ect. I shot before just never owned

2020-03-19 22:05:06 UTC

An AR

2020-03-19 22:05:14 UTC

Or an AK

2020-03-19 22:05:25 UTC

AR is better for home defense bcus jhp

2020-03-19 22:05:45 UTC

AK is better for Boog bcuz reliability and 7.62/5.45
