I don't know
like are they just taking your shit without paying?
They have my invoice, I've been on their office, consulted with their management and their artists, got all their project groundwork laid and they have yet to pull the trigger on kicking the project off.
I won't work for free
They want so much music done that I've put off all my other client work or just not booked anything new until for this month or next
Now I'm in limbo until they figure it out and I'm fucking pissed that they're yanking my chain like this.
This is my fucking livelihood.
They're fine with the rate, they're confident in my work, they all vibe with me super good, but they keep putting off payment and it is absolutely maddening.
Every time I talk to them "I didn't have time today, I will revisit it tomorrow/next week/whatever"
Fucking FUCK.
thats big fucking gay
I mean you could always imply the threat of lawsuits
At this point I'm full stop because they won't finalize my contract.
Like **COMMIT TO A DEADLINE OR JUST TELL ME YOURE NOT GOING TO HIRE ME.**
I've been getting madder and madder about this for like a week
Fucking record companies.
I need to vent about it or I'm going to blow the deal by being an idiot in a meeting sorry I'm getting mad.
No man - vent the fuck away
I'd be livid, especially if they were already late and then, today, pulled a "" aw yea bud I can't right now lol ""
Literally cleared my fucking schedule so I could handle their deadlines, ***told other paying clients I couldn't work on another project because I was too busy*** and they won't do the legwork to finalize my contract and pay me the **very reasonable $2600** I'm owed to get started.
. . . yeah I wouldn't threaten lawsuits, but I **WOULD** firmly tell them you've missed on other work opps because of this BS
And then give them a deadline or cancel.
Like the total project value is over $20000 which is why I'm even still fucking with this
Literally anyone else does this shit and I fire them immediately
@INNYGMATYK good idea.
Yeah - they might just be operating on some "" it's cool lol we got time "" mindset, and they need to be notified that they're now disrupting work for OTHER artists who want to get shit done.
Yeah, but whos on more of a time crunch?
Lawsuit / legal work might put them off and sour relations
But letting them know just how much they're fucki g up your shit, and that your future business relations are hanging on it, oughta motivate them.
You're not wrong @thedarkness05 - I just think people listen more if you tell then ""You're in the way. And if you don't move, I'm going to go through you and move on.""
Absolutely
Like, if you told me I was bothering you - fine - whatever.
But if you tell me I'm bothering other people / EVERYONE
well. . .
I'm not saying its the first option. But it is an option. Just lile arson
@thedarkness05 No future contracts if they go broke rebuilding their house <:lol:554425196283559938>
But idk if I'd really work with people like this more than once. . .
It sends a message to the rest. "Pay on time, or accidents happen" , classic NY mafioso moves
@INNYGMATYK it's a lot of money.
@Bodark Actual yeah, it is.
And I'm essentially getting paid to deal with the trouble, which I get
Which would be frustrating me more because, in my head, money/success = efficiency/professionalism
and clearly that isn't a consistent relationship lol
