and their keys taken

2018-12-15 15:48:30 UTC

the same would happen if government took over bitcoin, and it would happen immediately

2018-12-15 15:48:32 UTC

and no one in the network find out

2018-12-15 15:48:53 UTC

@NativeInterface cant take it over..

2018-12-15 15:49:02 UTC

If non-approved crypto were illegal I expect the value would plummet and no one would care about those keys

2018-12-15 15:49:12 UTC

they can try to change the code or fork the code to govt code. no one will run it though.

2018-12-15 15:49:20 UTC

We'e already seen new blockchains started

2018-12-15 15:49:27 UTC

The gov't could start from scratch

2018-12-15 15:49:35 UTC

well they could point guns at bitcoin core programmers and force them to implement taxation functions or something
but then the coin would lose all value and people would use bitcoin cash instead

2018-12-15 15:49:47 UTC

@DrYuriMom well india banned them

2018-12-15 15:50:03 UTC

so you cant buy crypto there unless you do it on the black market

2018-12-15 15:50:19 UTC

@NativeInterface it dont work like that

2018-12-15 15:50:20 UTC

Exactly what i have noted too

2018-12-15 15:50:27 UTC

if they point guns at developers

2018-12-15 15:50:32 UTC

and the miners see a new codebase

2018-12-15 15:50:34 UTC

guess what we do?

2018-12-15 15:50:39 UTC

dont update

2018-12-15 15:50:40 UTC

we read the code.. say SCAM

2018-12-15 15:50:44 UTC

and no one uses it

2018-12-15 15:50:46 UTC

literally.

2018-12-15 15:50:56 UTC

yeah i thought thats what i said

2018-12-15 15:51:04 UTC

So you can kill a currency that easily?!?

2018-12-15 15:51:09 UTC

@NativeInterface there are dif kinds of crypto

2018-12-15 15:51:17 UTC

@DrYuriMom also dif kinds of crypto...

2018-12-15 15:51:22 UTC

proof of work

2018-12-15 15:51:27 UTC

delegated proof of stake

2018-12-15 15:51:29 UTC

proof of stake

2018-12-15 15:51:31 UTC

and hybrid mixes

2018-12-15 15:51:40 UTC

none of them are the same.

2018-12-15 15:51:47 UTC

you can hack passwords really easily too, you just beat someone with a shovel until they say their password

2018-12-15 15:51:58 UTC

crypto is less a currency than a product

2018-12-15 15:52:09 UTC

PoW is harder to control or upgrade , bitcoin example.. DPOS is fast and has voting structure unlike bitcoin

2018-12-15 15:52:14 UTC

i cant vote your miner in bitcoin

2018-12-15 15:52:22 UTC

but i can vote for your witness in DPOS or Steem etc..

2018-12-15 15:52:28 UTC

i wouldnt say forcing developers to do things they are morally against is "easy" though, i have a feeling some of them would take the bullet

2018-12-15 15:52:45 UTC

POS is what ETH is.. pretty useless, slow..

2018-12-15 15:52:53 UTC

that's why i call eth a POS

2018-12-15 15:53:16 UTC

@NativeInterface you can attack the network, DPOS can be attacked

2018-12-15 15:53:25 UTC

netuoso look him up

2018-12-15 15:53:34 UTC

he attacked steem and stopped the entire blockchain

2018-12-15 15:53:57 UTC

the dpos systems work in a way if invalid transaction is in a block, it will shut it tf down
