2018-12-15 21:11:13 UTC

okay?

2018-12-15 21:11:24 UTC

If you don't believe in God, your mind looks for other garbage to believe in - like garbage Corporations

2018-12-15 21:11:34 UTC

heh, no.

2018-12-15 21:11:53 UTC

I've just had ok experience with intel in the past so intel is where I am likely to stay if the price is right.

2018-12-15 21:11:54 UTC

What I'm reading here doesn't look that way 😛

2018-12-15 21:12:01 UTC

AMD is good in that they are providing competition

2018-12-15 21:12:14 UTC

AMD is fucking over Intel right now.

2018-12-15 21:12:21 UTC

I dont need a new system right now

2018-12-15 21:12:29 UTC

AMD is about to pass intel in both speed an price

2018-12-15 21:12:34 UTC

and both companies were hit wiht the speculative branch issue

2018-12-15 21:12:42 UTC

Zen 2 is gonna be awesome sauce

2018-12-15 21:12:42 UTC

That's a lie!

2018-12-15 21:12:51 UTC

I am guessing I'll upgrade my rig next year, or year after

2018-12-15 21:13:09 UTC

The Speculative Excecution issues are mostly Intel, AMD is not as much affected as Intel is.

2018-12-15 21:13:12 UTC

no @Stefan Payne it isnt, AMD only hit one of the spectre issues, intel had both

2018-12-15 21:13:25 UTC

"not as much" = "impacted by at least some"

2018-12-15 21:13:37 UTC

I'm probably going to be upgrading to Zen 2 once it drops if they improve IPC 10%+ an they hit 4.6ghz clocks on all cores

2018-12-15 21:13:42 UTC

so yeah, let me wait until they have sorted their shit out (and IIRC, Intel got hit by another bug recently as well)

2018-12-15 21:14:12 UTC

when I do it will be a cost / performance balance. I wont rule out AMD, but given my generally good experience with INTEL I'm likely to lean towards intel

2018-12-15 21:14:35 UTC

at mo I need a holiday

2018-12-15 21:14:51 UTC

2019 needs to be Brant hits <insert interestin country here>

2018-12-15 21:14:56 UTC

``` but given my generally good experience with INTEL I'm likely to lean towards intel```
You're going to pay a higher price for an inferior product that consumes more power from one of the most evil companys ever to have existed???
2018-12-15 21:15:11 UTC
*looks at Stefan*
2018-12-15 21:15:24 UTC
AMD is better value for multithreaded tasks.. intel when raw IPC is required (at the moment) people who need workstations are going AMD while gamers are going Intel
2018-12-15 21:15:25 UTC
you're going woo woo on me
2018-12-15 21:15:41 UTC
2018-12-15 21:16:38 UTC
2018-12-15 21:16:58 UTC
