@Gilgamesh when you start moving a laptop around a lot then shit happens. It happens a lot more as the people around you increase. Have a laptop long enough and it will get dropped, maybe even by airport security

gut the laptop from the case, put into a thicker frame with the screen against the glass. Digitial photoframe like device from an old laptop that way

with a bit of work you can even keep the webcam on the laptop functional and pointing in a useable way. makes the photoframe double as a webcam portal and security camera as well... or even a way to add gesture control to the photoframe
