The other part is the label
@Beemann it's a kind of trigger, part of human nature, and why f2p games can be so exploitative
Everybody who criticised dems is either altright or a russian agent now
F2P games work on compulsion loops, not ads
Not healthy imo
I don't believe awareness turns into purchases.
kleenix brand tissues are so synonymous with tissues that itssues are just called kleenixes 99% of the time.
Their tissues suck. I always buy puffs
part of that compulsion loop is ads and notifications to bring back awareness of the addiction

The reason why the f2p loop works is because they reward you less and less over time, forcing you to work more to get the same feeling
Like a drug
Ads don't do that
no, what ads do is find those on the edge of leaving and bring them back in
Source
Like almost every time someone tries to suggest this shit is approaching mind control tier it ends up being junk, like subliminal messaging
The fact of the matter is that ads work off of existing desire for a thing by reminding you that it exists
but political ads like the BLM troll accounts worked like that. They fed into a narrative that people wanted to beleive and their existence led people into activisim for that fake cause. That is how that fake BLM account got so many donation
So that the next time you go out to buy a GPU, you remember your old friend AMD before that Nvidia a-hole
for fast food, it's targeting kids with toys or poor people with low prices
Those people were already all-in
They just got scammed
```The fact of the matter is that ads work off of existing desire for a thing by reminding you that it exists
Now that definition i can agree with.
this is also why there are so many hype videos for games like fallout 76
Because people want to be hyped for it
Ads have become such shit these days all about making you think about the product by presenting some absurdity that has nothing to do with the product rather than telling you what makes the product worthwhile.
i iblame the superbowl
I decided a while ago that I didn't care for release day hype, and realized that buying games on launch wasnt that great anyway. I have been more annoyed by ads than anything else for the past 5-10 years
Furthest I get is "that looks like a cool idea. I wonder how well it'll work out"
I love there's no hype for games release on linux... I buy whatever I want whenever I want and only steam store can influence my choice 😉
AAA games seem to sell almost 75% on fear of missing out with people wanting to discuss the hot new game online and feel like they're a part of the experience
Bongoland education
😄
I don't want to live on this planet anymore
Oh speaking of which, my dad got RDR2. Played a bit of it and it's the same gunplay. Meh
Wouldn't buy anyway since I've stopped buying R*
I will admit I am currently preordering 1 game
Let me know when Rockstar publishes a new Skate or Destroy game and then I might care about them. San Andreas is the last of theirs that seems worth while
I sometimes make exceptions and preorder.
i preordered KH3
^
Taekahn ya saw that trailer right?
yeah
Gdi Nomura
the scary part to me is how this propaganda we're all drenched in all the time (I see ads as a form of it) is pushing the progressive idealogy and creating the transtrender BS, white guilter sjws, man hating feminists, migrant fever, etc. Seems that the world just is a toxic pool of self destructive propaganda right now
seems to be all that the colleges do now
I didn't like KH2 all that much. The first few levels just killed any enthusiasm I had for it, and the length of time between releases just makes it hard to care at all for 3
