Probably not the same, but scrcpy is nice
Scrcpy sounds cool
I'll look into using it
Sounds similar to KDE Connect but with wires tbh
my biggest use for mobile phones is VR VNC still to a google cardboard headset
that or retroarch
I'm loving DeX
Solid 7/10 desktop experience
Might look into running ubuntu through DeX
I hear that's a thing
i tried that and there is a giant issue with it
arm cpus cannot run x86 code worth a damn
Oh shit
would rather just keep it running android and screencast it
Yeah forgot about that
Alright thanks for the advice
you can actually wifi scrcpy
remember you can still VNC into your own android device to run linux
wifi debugging
That's fair
No audio support
ubuntu touch died from that cpu code issue as well, strange that they are taking another crack at it
All I remember of Ubuntu Touch was bugs and crashes
@Panzers und Pasta i have two shields one with the bad battery that i nnever sent back and the replacement one nvida sent me
I think we are a bit overdue for a dockable phone with a full OS
or at least drop a tiny ssd in my phone so I can boot from it
we at least have phones with hdmi out and almost all phones have screen casting now
and can bluetooth input devices to it
that was part of why I got an old xt897. Built in keyboard, support for a mouse and built in hdmi slot (mini to normal)
there are phones with hdmi out?
yep
I have honestly never seen one
mini hdmi connector on the phone
micro hdmi
the nvidia shield has a mini hdmi and that shit is too thick for a phone
they also have hdmi micro https://www.sfcable.com/micro-hdmi-cable-14440.html
and all devices can screen cast of course
