Yes that's my point. There are different definitions that people use. Merriam Webster says one, and dictionary.com says another. When people sue the word "rant" in common parlance they are typically referring to something aggressive, not excited or passionate.

2019-01-03 09:07:19 UTC

are we debating definitions today?

2019-01-03 09:07:22 UTC

so you are against aggression?

2019-01-03 09:07:45 UTC

yet i am called a cuck

2019-01-03 09:08:03 UTC

I never made a case for or against anything. I'm saying you are ignoring the context how some words are used colloquially and how that might differ fro mone official dictionary

2019-01-03 09:08:03 UTC

"i am the tough guy but he is being mean"

2019-01-03 09:08:05 UTC

Wtf are you on

2019-01-03 09:08:20 UTC

what

2019-01-03 09:08:32 UTC

i'm on uppers, downers

2019-01-03 09:08:37 UTC

normally, I think of a rant as like a long-winded monologue about a subject

2019-01-03 09:08:48 UTC

point is

2019-01-03 09:09:00 UTC

his argument is that i was ranting just because i cared about what i was saying

2019-01-03 09:09:03 UTC

and that is not an argument

2019-01-03 09:09:09 UTC

yes i am passionate

2019-01-03 09:09:12 UTC

what does that mean

2019-01-03 09:09:17 UTC

what the fuck do you have to say otherwise

2019-01-03 09:09:22 UTC

nothing

2019-01-03 09:09:25 UTC

it was never about the argument

2019-01-03 09:09:27 UTC

this fucking retard

2019-01-03 09:09:37 UTC

just wants to be the opposition

2019-01-03 09:09:47 UTC

Yeah exactly. I'm not saying anything except you are deliberately ignoring context.

2019-01-03 09:09:49 UTC

I mean if you care about what you're saying, that's normally a good thing no?

2019-01-03 09:10:11 UTC

so because i am passionate about what i say

2019-01-03 09:10:14 UTC

i am wrong

2019-01-03 09:10:20 UTC

instead of him debating me

2019-01-03 09:10:20 UTC

You guys still arguing about the definition of ranting?

2019-01-03 09:10:24 UTC

he just says i am ranting

2019-01-03 09:10:24 UTC

lol

2019-01-03 09:10:30 UTC

dusty you fucking pleb

2019-01-03 09:10:36 UTC

Idk where you live, but everyone I know thinks of rant as having an aggressive connotation. Not just long speech.

2019-01-03 09:10:41 UTC

I was the one that said you were ranting.

2019-01-03 09:10:48 UTC

And you guys just started going at it.

2019-01-03 09:10:51 UTC

"i'm gonna encourage this troll but come back and act like they're both wrong lol"

2019-01-03 09:10:53 UTC

I've never run into someone who thinks rants are aggressive

2019-01-03 09:11:00 UTC

Yes, if you are passionate, you are wrong, as far as debate goes

2019-01-03 09:11:06 UTC

no

2019-01-03 09:11:12 UTC

aggressive and passionate are two separate things

2019-01-03 09:11:13 UTC

debate is not about being passionate or impassionate

2019-01-03 09:11:15 UTC

it's about facts

2019-01-03 09:11:23 UTC

you can be passionate about delivering a good argument

2019-01-03 09:11:25 UTC

it actually helps
