You have total and complete freedom over your system

2019-01-06 07:20:26 UTC

sounds fake

2019-01-06 07:20:34 UTC

It's true though

2019-01-06 07:20:38 UTC

how so

2019-01-06 07:20:39 UTC

I can change anything I want

2019-01-06 07:20:50 UTC
2019-01-06 07:20:58 UTC

Swap out desktop environment, file managers, everything you can imagine

2019-01-06 07:21:03 UTC

**Vetus#9759** just left the server.

2019-01-06 07:21:27 UTC

i do not understand since i neer used linux

2019-01-06 07:22:04 UTC

I like it better lxtiger

2019-01-06 07:22:14 UTC

why

2019-01-06 07:22:16 UTC

Here is why. Windows update

2019-01-06 07:22:19 UTC

2019-01-06 07:22:39 UTC

You can make things look way cooler on Linux

2019-01-06 07:22:49 UTC

Don't exist on Linux. Ur files never get purged and os is never force upgraded to the next windows bricking ur PC.

2019-01-06 07:23:00 UTC

tell me why people trust antivirus software as if they are actually protecting them and not also causing hacking problems in order for you to buy their software

2019-01-06 07:23:20 UTC

Linux doesn't have much of that

2019-01-06 07:23:22 UTC

No idea, I hate antivirus software

2019-01-06 07:23:31 UTC

why not

2019-01-06 07:23:37 UTC

I use some on one of my nodes @Termer

2019-01-06 07:23:45 UTC

Because it's more niche, and it's objectively more secure than windoze

2019-01-06 07:23:48 UTC

Just doesn't need it

2019-01-06 07:24:00 UTC

Unless you are running a node

2019-01-06 07:24:03 UTC

It's used by over 80% of servers, so it's very secure.

2019-01-06 07:24:05 UTC

how is a certain OS more resilient to hacking

2019-01-06 07:24:14 UTC

Because of the way permissions are

2019-01-06 07:24:15 UTC

It's not

2019-01-06 07:24:21 UTC

uh oh

2019-01-06 07:25:05 UTC

To hacking, it's not objectively more secure I suppose, although that seems to be the case. I'm not a cybersecurity expert, so I can't speak very knowledgably about the subject.

2019-01-06 07:25:16 UTC

You can hack Linux just like windope. But if you are desktop user the way the user structure is laid out you have to sudo to get authority .

2019-01-06 07:25:34 UTC

Yeah

2019-01-06 07:25:34 UTC

sudo"

2019-01-06 07:25:36 UTC

??

2019-01-06 07:25:41 UTC

sandboxing everything helps though

2019-01-06 07:25:41 UTC

Give it permission

2019-01-06 07:25:51 UTC

what is sandboxing

2019-01-06 07:25:54 UTC

You have to explicitely give viruses permission to run with full permissions

2019-01-06 07:26:07 UTC

Means u have a box inside ur os that they can't get out of

2019-01-06 07:26:22 UTC

why doesn't windows force programs to ask permissions to run
