Crypto has 4 problems to overcome in order to "defeat the feds"

1 - It has to become so user friendly that everyone can (and will) adopt it
2 - It has to become actually largely usable outside the grasp of any ISP
3 - It has to be able to outlive the test of time of evolutionary technology
4 - It has to be recognised as a legal currency in its own right for it to fully disconnect from the value of real world currency

2019-01-17 10:28:21 UTC

that last one is a doozy too

2019-01-17 10:28:45 UTC

good luck getting them to recognize the thing that will cause their downfall lol

2019-01-17 10:29:10 UTC

It won't, they'll just bring out their own currency 😉 like Venezuela

2019-01-17 10:29:13 UTC

How can any one currency be disconnected from a 'real world' one?

2019-01-17 10:29:25 UTC

by making it a real world one on its own

2019-01-17 10:29:29 UTC

BTC is still valued in USD

2019-01-17 10:29:44 UTC

So is the pound if I want it to be.

2019-01-17 10:29:55 UTC

as in, have something like BTC be tradable in banks/federal transactions

2019-01-17 10:30:11 UTC

yes but the pound has its own inherent value that can be used like Wol said

2019-01-17 10:30:46 UTC

right now you would have to exchange BTC for legal tender in order to do that

2019-01-17 10:31:32 UTC

say the dollar explodes in inflation, and it finally hits that magical "100%" crypto-yuppies talk about

2019-01-17 10:31:37 UTC

and the dollar effectively becomes useless

2019-01-17 10:31:45 UTC

everyone can hop over

2019-01-17 10:31:52 UTC

but if the state rejects crypto currency

2019-01-17 10:32:08 UTC

and say you go to the bank and they tell you "okay you're 1 billion in debt"

2019-01-17 10:32:18 UTC

and you hand them a flash drive with your bitcoins

2019-01-17 10:32:38 UTC

you think they'll go "oh cool, you're all settled"

or does the state say "dafuq am i supposed to do with this?"

2019-01-17 10:32:42 UTC

lol

2019-01-17 10:32:45 UTC

😛

2019-01-17 10:32:53 UTC

OK

2019-01-17 10:33:43 UTC

I feel like if inflation did hit 100%, we would have a lot more to worry about than our outstanding debt

2019-01-17 10:33:58 UTC

like going to a store in venezeula and paying with Russian Rubles

2019-01-17 10:34:34 UTC

or going into an american store and pay with Zimbabwe money

2019-01-17 10:34:39 UTC

they're just gonna say "lol, no"

2019-01-17 10:34:41 UTC

That already exists @Dr.Wol

2019-01-17 10:34:51 UTC

Coinbase is fdic btc

2019-01-17 10:35:27 UTC

The banks are already stacking btc

2019-01-17 10:35:38 UTC

Morgan Stanley.. other.. fidelity.

2019-01-17 10:36:08 UTC

Large firm JP Morgan bought an exchange for some billions

2019-01-17 10:36:14 UTC

U may have heard of them. IDK..

2019-01-17 10:36:49 UTC

I heard the fdic also said they wanted to regulate it

2019-01-17 10:36:49 UTC

Funny tho cuz they bought at the peak of the market lol

2019-01-17 10:37:04 UTC

Let's see it @Dr.Wol

2019-01-17 10:38:50 UTC

And lets be honest,

If they can't regulate it (which i doubt they can)

Do you expect them to go "Oh well, lets just let it loose"?

Or that they'd go "we can't control it, so lets just get rid of it"

2019-01-17 10:39:19 UTC

its government we're talking about, you ever heard of a government just going "yolo" over something it can't control?

2019-01-17 10:41:16 UTC

Look, i'm willing to admit Crypto is looking pretty sweet,

But people talk about it like its more divine than Jesus to devout Christians,

But remember, people said the same about the Ipod

2019-01-17 10:42:23 UTC

And every person I've ran into that advocates it like its the messiah itself,

Also ended up wanting to sell me bridges

2019-01-17 10:42:38 UTC

Legacy Govt can be replaced with this technology

2019-01-17 10:42:49 UTC

Just my opinion.
