I know a few unironic communists in my private life

they're perfectly fine until exposed to anything where the market isn't absolutely hitting a home run right this moment

and go straight toward full state control of 100% of aspects of human life

unironic communists tend to be pretty good people to be around so long as you don't broach that kinda topic

I find them to be highly variable

I think they're fundamentally very dangerous people to be around

because given the right circumstances, they would literally feed you to animals for the greater good

and if you listen to the way they talk about people in their world view, this much is clear

but at the same time, sometimes they are more compassionate in a given moment

all the ones I know are utter hypocrites

they live bourgeois lives to which the only challenge is their own pettiness and decadence

which they tend to try to characterize as principle, and a desire not to "sell out"
