but our local cops do actually have it in their procedures to arrest men only in cases of domestic violence, which skews the numbers immensely. Talked to a cop and he explained it to me as being a result of the single mother broken home culture. When they respond to a fight between a single mother and her boyfriend, even if the male is the obvious victim of it all they cannot arrest the female in most cases because she is the sole custodian of her kids and they don't want to deal with any of it. So they arrest the man to get him out of the house because that is easier on them. This distorts the physical violence stat because even when they are the victim the men are the ones listed as being arrested @R9b1t
