But on second thought that kills everyone

2019-01-31 06:21:46 UTC

The train meme as you put is a black and white fallacy that is to be applied to anything

2019-01-31 06:22:01 UTC

lol sure

2019-01-31 06:22:03 UTC

@Paradox I just explained how good and evil is linked to logic

2019-01-31 06:22:08 UTC

no you didn't

2019-01-31 06:22:13 UTC

Okay

2019-01-31 06:22:19 UTC

Feel free to scroll up

2019-01-31 06:22:30 UTC

Maybe you think you did, but you didn't.

2019-01-31 06:22:34 UTC

^

2019-01-31 06:22:42 UTC

Then tell me how I didn't

2019-01-31 06:22:50 UTC

Instead of making statements

2019-01-31 06:22:51 UTC

tell you how you didn't do something?

2019-01-31 06:22:51 UTC

can't prove a negative

2019-01-31 06:22:57 UTC

Wow

2019-01-31 06:23:04 UTC

You must know the negative

2019-01-31 06:23:08 UTC

So what is it

2019-01-31 06:23:27 UTC

You don't have any answer and you don't understand so you just deny I had one

2019-01-31 06:23:33 UTC

Fuck

2019-01-31 06:23:53 UTC

Well, I mean, I could explain 2 by saying Five, but that doesn't really explain anything...

2019-01-31 06:23:59 UTC

I guess we hit the deadend

2019-01-31 06:24:09 UTC

So what else is new

2019-01-31 06:25:07 UTC

I am not being snarky I am saying obviously we're not moving forward on this so what else is going on

2019-01-31 06:25:23 UTC

I'm still wondering what the goal of the train meme is.

2019-01-31 06:25:33 UTC

That's between you two

2019-01-31 06:25:43 UTC

It's a black and white fallacy however

2019-01-31 06:25:57 UTC

There is always another option

2019-01-31 06:26:35 UTC

If I turned the train to kill one I commit murder

2019-01-31 06:26:45 UTC

If I left the train to kill 5 I am implicit

2019-01-31 06:27:07 UTC

It's bullshit to convince you that evil is necessary somehow

2019-01-31 06:27:14 UTC

Evil is retarded

2019-01-31 06:27:26 UTC

But I'm not getting through to two nihilists

2019-01-31 06:27:39 UTC

the train thing is not a fallacy it's an analogy for when there is a choice to make that leads only to bad outcomes and your ability to rationalize evil as the "lesser evil", which means that morality is relative to the situation and not bound to pure logic

2019-01-31 06:27:45 UTC

I'm not sure I am a nihilist.

2019-01-31 06:28:02 UTC

Why can't you stop the train

2019-01-31 06:28:06 UTC

disproving the idea of real evil and real good

2019-01-31 06:28:07 UTC

What's the bad outcome? What if my goal is to get to work on time?

2019-01-31 06:28:11 UTC

Why can't you bring the people off the tracks

2019-01-31 06:28:18 UTC

Can i make the train hit both people?

2019-01-31 06:28:20 UTC

If i still make it on time, what does 6 ppl dying matter to that goal?

2019-01-31 06:28:57 UTC

that's bargaining, and that doesn't solve anything. don't you understand the point of an allegory ?

2019-01-31 06:29:01 UTC

So, again, what's the goal?
