People need to be very careful of what they post to social media. MOST companies use 3rd party firms to do background checks on employees and prospects. THESE INCLUDE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA. That joke you posted as a 15 yr old wise guy may just prevent you from being hired years later. As an adult, posting your support for a piece of legislation, like a ban on partial birth abortions, and you get selected for the next downsize. This is a real problem that nobody is talking about.
